Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity review (PS2)Reviewed on March 29, 2015Maybe if it had featured Spyro the Dragon instead of Spero the Boring Guy, things would have been a bit better... |

Ring of Red review (PS2)Reviewed on March 09, 2015Watching a video of Ring of Red might convince you that it is almost exactly like Front Mission. But just a few minutes into playing the game you'll discover that its battle system is radically different than most turn-based games. As far as I know, there isn't really anything even remotely like it. |

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES review (PS2)Reviewed on August 31, 2014You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have...tedium interrupted by occasional awesome moments. |

Final Fantasy X review (PS2)Reviewed on November 10, 2013An obsession with death. |

Primal review (PS2)Reviewed on October 30, 2013Primal's combat is so tiresome that it's easy to ignore the game's lesser flaws, as well as its moments of greatness. |

Clock Tower 3 review (PS2)Reviewed on October 22, 2013What kills this game most of all is its unnecessary silliness combined with viciousness and brutality, resulting in an unstable mixture that few creative minds can utilize with success. |

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse review (PS2)Reviewed on October 10, 2013So, how did this game insert the Age of Apocalypse into their actual continuity? Well, the first thing Apocalypse does here is take over Genosha, displacing Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil and causing them and the X-Men to engage in some teeth-clinched teamwork. A number of the more notable villains were AoA baddies, such as Abyss, Holocaust and Sugar Man. Sugar Man even refers to being in the alternate universe, noting that Apocalypse is "as good as gold in any universe". |

Silent Hill 4: The Room review (PS2)Reviewed on October 06, 2013You're tearing me apart, Konami! |

Sonic Mega Collection Plus review (PS2)Reviewed on September 20, 2013I've not actually seen Ristar on this collection because of the painfully tedious process of unlocking games. From doing a good bit of reading, you apparently need a save for Sonic Heroes on your memory card to get a couple of the games, while the rest are unlocked by starting up various Genesis games a whole bunch of times; and game hints are unlocked by keeping games open for three hours. This is just so stupid… |

Silent Hill 3 review (PS2)Reviewed on August 19, 2013Happy 10th Anniversary, Silent Hill 3! |

Final Fantasy XII review (PS2)Reviewed on May 22, 2013FFXII is robust from a technical standpoint, it's enjoyable after acquiring a working knowledge of the game mechanics, and there’s a plethora of monster and item hunts to embark on. FFXII at least deserves some respect for what it has attempted, but it’s disappointing it isn’t better than it is |

Gitaroo-Man review (PS2)Reviewed on April 21, 2013Gitaroo Man is a dream for genre purists, and is destined to live on as a fondly remembered cult classic. |

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly review (PS2)Reviewed on June 19, 2012Any gamer remembers Spyro as the game which became an instant classic, as soon as it hit the shelves. Personally, I remember it as the first game I played on my first console back in '98. It had me hooked. Along with it's sequels (Gateway to Glimmer (UK version of Ripto's Rage) and Year of the Dragon), it had the ability to conjure up excitement with every new portal, homeworld or enemy. However, what went wrong with Enter the Dragonfly? |

Final Fantasy X review (PS2)Reviewed on April 28, 2012After that debacle, though, I noticed that Yuna had a particular piece of armor designed to block three particular negative statuses, so I decided to make sure she was always in the party when fighting them. Sure enough, she was able to avoid being confused or silenced by the beast and, as a result, cure my other members so they could finish it off. A tough monster made easier due to me using my brain — I was proud of myself! |

Legaia 2: Duel Saga review (PS2)Reviewed on April 07, 2012Legaia 2: Duel Saga seems to be a throwback to old-school JRPGs, which might satisfy the hardcore RPG gamer looking for some nostalgia. But while striving for the old-school vibe it throws away the many things that made the original Legend of Legaia so innovative and endearing. It is hard for me to recommend this game to fans of the original that may have higher expectations. But then again, it is hard to recommend this game to RPG newcomers as well. |

Rule of Rose review (PS2)Reviewed on February 27, 2012While coming on strongly like a survival horror title, Rule of Rose nods to some of the genre's mechanical demands in an almost obligatory fashion, being basic at the basics and downright bad at combat. The game's power and meaning are instead invested in atypical areas; in a weird and chronologically difficult mystery story, in its transgressive subject matter and in the wide range of moods the game is able to conjure up. |

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus review (PS2)Reviewed on February 16, 2012While Sly Cooper occasionally shows glimpses of stealth, it just doesn't do enough to be called a stealth game. It's a decent action game, and a very good platformer. But, a stealth game, it isn't. |
