We're the only website dedicated to video games enough to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a 32X pseudo-sequel shooter you've never heard of.

Spider-Man: Web of Fire review (32X)

Reviewed on January 06, 2015

Part clunky brawler, part frustrating platformer, Web of Fire is definitely not the “32-bit gaming experience” promised by Sega.

WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game review (32X)

Reviewed on August 13, 2010

For wrestling fans, WrestleMania defines the sport. It is the single biggest event in the calendar, and, for more than a quarter of a century, has promised big matches, big celebrities, and a few hours of quality sports entertainment.

Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000 review (32X)

Reviewed on July 28, 2008

To this day, I have no idea why I'm a 32x fan. I mean, I know the entire concept of the 32x was stupid and that the majority of the 32x game library (if you can call it a library. I think bookshelf would be a more appropriate description) was mediocre. Yet, I still have some hideous attachment to the add-on, despite not owning it in my youth or even pining for one during its initial release.

Spider-Man: Web of Fire review (32X)

Reviewed on December 29, 2005

Occasionally, you’ll hear about some nerd who shelled out their life savings on a certain rarity, something that they’ve been hunting down for years and have saved every single penny that they’ve earned so they could purchase this rarity. Now, when I hear about some bum who has burned away a small fortune on a video game, it stupefies me, especially, when the title that they’ve picked up turns out to be an absolute crock.

Knuckles' Chaotix (Sega 32X)

Knuckles' Chaotix review (32X)

Reviewed on September 24, 2005

Spin-offs are usually never a good thing. Sure, we have some special cases like Frasier but the majority of the time, the spin-off rarely surpasses the original. In fact, the majority of these spin-offs flop horribly (take the recent Friends spin off Joey for a perfect example) but once in a blue moon, you get a spin-off that not only rivals its originator but also actually surpasses it in certain ways.

Cosmic Carnage (Sega 32X)

Cosmic Carnage review (32X)

Reviewed on January 11, 2005

One of the few fighters created just for the 32X was an obscure game called Cosmic Carnage. Unlike the majority of those on the system, this one was actually an original game and not a port of an overused arcade title like Mortal Kombat or Primal Rage. It was released only on the 32X, so it is virtually unknown due to that add-on’s failure (it wasn’t the only game to suffer such a fate). A beat-em-up with little innovation or any special qualities to make it stand out in the crowd Cosmic Carnage...

Kolibri review (32X)

Reviewed on January 11, 2005

Novotrade is barely known in the gaming world nowadays. The company themselves may not be known but their classic game “Ecco the Dolphin” probably will. Another game by Novotrade that didn’t become as popular as the Ecco series was “Kolibri” a game similar to Ecco in many ways but had a few original concepts. It was only released on the Sega 32X, the failed console that Sega probably don’t want to hear about ever again. It hit the stores 1995 which was when the gaming world was slowly changing f...

Blackthorne (Sega 32X)

Blackthorne review (32X)

Reviewed on June 25, 2004

The Sega 32X. One of the most bashed, beaten and humiliated piece of technology ever to ever enter anybody’s home, well in the last ten years anyway. This Genesis add-on did not reach the success of its predecessor, which was a real shame. When you think of the mistakes that were made in the releasing of this console, like timing and the price of it they could really been prevented and then I guess maybe the 32X could have been a small success instead of gargantuan failure. Anyway, one of the ga...

Space Harrier (Sega 32X)

Space Harrier review (32X)

Reviewed on March 14, 2004

Space Harrier is a game of unique mold from a time when there were practically no conventions for games. In its day, most genres hadn't been carved yet and games only resembled each other in minimalistic principal similarities. As the lines that defined games became more clear, Space Harrier continued to remain untouched in its simple quality. Space Harrier is a shooter, but it is a groundbreaking and important shooter that would remain unchallenged in its playability and its archetype.

Blackthorne (Sega 32X)

Blackthorne review (32X)

Reviewed on March 14, 2004

It doesn't take much for a great game to be overlooked. Lack of marketing, release window too late in a console's life... just one snafu can make an excellent and potentially successful game disappear from gamers' minds.
