Darkwing Duck review (NES)Reviewed on January 27, 2003As all of you should know, Darkwing Duck was a duck who walked and talked like any human and wore a purple suit, and was supplied with various devices from his sidekick Launchpad McQuack and his neice Gosalyn. He had enemies galore, including the fearsome five, which spurred on this seven staged game in which seven of his greatest enemies lurked to stop Darkwing Duck himself. |

Taboo: The Sixth Sense review (NES)Reviewed on January 26, 2003The thing about Tarot cards is that someone who actually believes that they are a gifted reader will offer their services for free, while the quacks are the ones jumping to charge you large sums of money to reveal your fortune and the meaning of life. Yay to Nintendo for being the quack. |

Evert & Lendl Top Player's Tennis review (NES)Reviewed on January 26, 2003The idea behind Top Player Tennis was that it featured the top male and female tennis pros of the time, Chris Everet and Ivan Lendl (shows how old the game is), who would give you tips and lessons on how to play the game of tennis as you progressed through various tournaments. However due to poor gameplay, mediocre graphics and the lack of a high fun factor, Top Player Tennis turned out to be one huge lesson in frustration. Oh, and they pronounce Ivan Lendl’s name wrong. |

Bad News Baseball review (NES)Reviewed on January 25, 2003Often times, things don’t make much sense at all. For instance, there’s a popular expression that says, “A penny for your thoughts.” But there’s also a saying that says you have to “put your two cents in.” With these two statements, it’s obvious that someone out there is making a penny. But who is it? We have no idea, we’re just left to assume that these phrases are simple sayings that apply to us and not some vast greater idea. |

NES Open Tournament Golf review (NES)Reviewed on December 21, 2002My first golfing game, and truth be told it almost was my last. Looking back the game was not bad however, it just really tested my patience. It is the basis of almost all the Nintendo games after this, including Mario Golf 64, which was a quality game. This is basically just a normal golfing game, with nothing new to it, besides that Mario is the golfer. |

Double Dragon II: The Revenge review (NES)Reviewed on December 20, 2002So what was their first console game you have ever played? I am probably one of the few people in the world who can say that the very first console game they owned was Double Dragon II for the NES. It came with the system that Easter morning, and it was the first game I popped in, even before that Super Mario Bros game (I think). And I loved it for so many years. The game was just fun, with the kicking, punching, and of course the cheap twirl kick. This game was entertaining, but very challengin... |

Donkey Kong 3 review (NES)Reviewed on November 25, 2002What this means is you can't leave a section of the screen unwatched. Do so and you're likely to lose a life. You have to guard the flowers but generally the path to success is avoiding bugs while you pelt the ape with spray until he is backed up against the top of the screen. When he reaches the top, the stage is over and you can advance to the next. The problem is that your spray is rather weak, as a general rule. |

Jacac review (NES)Reviewed on November 20, 2002Buy big collections of games from various people, you always have the fillers, and that is what Jacac is; a filler. For a filler it isn't that bad, and it is very similiar to the much more famous Iron Tank. You ride around in a tank and shoot them from your barrels. Not something worth buying, but when you buy big collections you always have the no names and at least this one is somewhat fun. |

Balloon Fight review (NES)Reviewed on November 16, 2002An interesting game of sorts. The point is to drop down on your balloon, and pop your opponents balloons before they do the vice-versa to you. This is a very old game, and yet it was easily one of the best games for the NES, until at least it's later years. It was an interesting idea, with great gameplay. |

Yoshi's Cookie review (NES)Reviewed on November 15, 2002At one point in my life I was given the choice whether to purchase Yoshi's Cookie or Dr. Mario. Both fairly famous puzzle games, in the end I decided to pick up Yoshi's Cookie, because it looked fairly innovative. It also had Yoshi, who was a great spokesfigure. However if it was the good decision or not, I will not know until I get my hands on Dr. Mario. Yoshi's Cookie is a mediocre puzzle game at best, but it wasn't a complete disapointment. |

Clu Clu Land review (NES)Reviewed on November 14, 2002The origin of Nintendo begins before the epic quests with the simple games. Clu Clu Land is one of those simple games, but is immensely fun. Personally this is an NES game with alot going for it. It's a puzzle game, as many original NES games were, but it is entertaining and very innovative. |

Clu Clu Land review (NES)Reviewed on September 11, 2002Moving around the maze becomes a tedious matter of letting the character run in a straight line, finding a pole, then pivoting around it at the precise moment, letting go when you're lined up toward your next goal, and repeating. |

Balloon Fight review (NES)Reviewed on September 11, 2002You (and a competing friend, if you go this two-player) get to make a mad leap forward and hopefully keep a few of your opponents from even getting off the ground. The rest obviously will take to the air, and then it's a delicate matter of defeating them while avoiding the natural hazards. |

Cabal review (NES)Reviewed on August 25, 2002This game is a simple 3rd person shooter, where you take out loads of enemies at a time. That is the whole point of Cabal, mass killing. I LOVED this game, as it had the best 2-player out of any game on the entire original Nintendo Entertainment System. With all my modern systems I have today, I still play Cabal when my friend Paul comes over, because we have been doing this for at least five years now. It is like a tradition, cause it is a hilariously fun game, and there is no waiting between c... |

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link review (NES)Reviewed on August 16, 2002The Adventure of Link is not at all like the original. They combined a 3D world with 2D areas. The fighting is more similiar to Castlevania then it is to the original Zelda. Really I do not understand why the original NES always changed the sequels so drastically from an already succesful formula. This is my least favorite Zelda game, for it could've been much better and I did not like how the game worked out, and the strange story. |

Donkey Kong Jr. Math review (NES)Reviewed on August 15, 2002There's really no challenge other than repetition and who is better at math with high digits. The only way to die is to fall into a pit, something so difficult to accomplish that you must do it on purpose. And the penalty? You start over while your opponent keeps working toward his goal. |

Metroid review (NES)Reviewed on August 01, 2002Metroid has rather rapidly become a videogame legacy. However before the truth came out that Samus Aran's and before the famous sequel, led by Super Metroid, there was the original Metroid for the NES. This game is what spurred on the series, and in truth I really don't know how. I got this game early on in my NES's life in a bundle of about 10 games. At first this game was fun, but then the difficulty set in. You have to search every little corridor a million times, just to try and figure out w... |

The Simpsons: Bart vs. the World review (NES)Reviewed on July 29, 2002Videogames coming off television shows usually are short and with little replay value with them. However the one that stands above those rules is The Simpsons: Bart vs the World (here on known as S:BVTW). This is easily the only really good Simpsons game in my mind, although it is really an above average game. Sure it has it's technical problems, but it has alot of moments among it. |

Home Alone review (NES)Reviewed on July 29, 2002Home Alone is based on the movie of the same name. Well, most people hate movie to game video games, but I just don't see what's so terrible about them. I have to ask a question: Is Home Alone really all that bad? It had a cool idea, that no game tried to copy (except, well, Home Alone on SNES and Genesis, but they're the same game). And I don't care what you say, I think Home Alone is actually an OK game. Sure the graphics and sound weren't memorable, and it was hard as fuck, but for some reaso... |

Ghostbusters review (NES)Reviewed on July 29, 2002Ghostbusters is, without a doubt, the worst game ever. No game is worse. Not only does it combine bad graphics, bland sound, lame control- but very (x200000000) bad gameplay. I doubt anyone actually played this game, but still I have to review a game that sucks, because it's easier to tell you why a game blows, then why it is great; that's my opinion. |
