Evolve (Xbox One)

Evolve review (XB1)

Reviewed on March 12, 2015

Hedges its bets on a thin, undercooked premise. You'll have seen most of what the game has to offer by the time you've wrapped up the tutorial.

The Awakened Fate: Ultimatum review (PS3)

Reviewed on March 10, 2015

Fated to suffer a bit in its more interesting and complicated predecessor's shadow, but the streamlined approach taken here does occasionally pay dividends.

Oblitus review (PC)

Reviewed on March 09, 2015

Great initial impressions are rendered somewhat moot by the inherent tedium of the game's harsh design principles.

Ring of Red review (PS2)

Reviewed on March 09, 2015

Watching a video of Ring of Red might convince you that it is almost exactly like Front Mission. As far as I know, there isn't really anything even remotely like it.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse review (WIIU)

Reviewed on March 07, 2015

It's nowhere near as revelatory now, but it demonstrates that the original formula wasn't a mere novelty. This is sincerely clever, time-tested stuff.

Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart review (VITA)

Reviewed on February 27, 2015

Hyperdevotion Noire may very well be my favorite game in the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise, but more importantly, it reignited an interest in a genre I wrote off as too difficult years ago.
