In a way, this game is good. It has quite a few good qualities, but no great ones. The storyline is somewhat babyish, the characters are un-involving, and the fighting is somewhat boring. You're probably wondering exactly what IS good about this game.

It has charm.

The graphics are pretty good, but don't have enough detail. They don't do anything that hasn't already been done. They are polygonal characters, in a 3D world. This proves to handle pretty well, for the Playstation. Completely 3D. The graphics don't show any sort of excellent lighting, or shading; they seem somewhat boring. But all in all, they are pretty good, just not innovative, and very plain.

The sound is OK. Musical selections provide a happy atmoshpere at not-so-happy times. This made it feel a little bit fake. The battle theme is alright, and the boss theme is, too. The sound effects are very childish, somewhat like Banjo-Kazooie. As you walk around, ''Baby'', your partner, makes little annoying sounds. VERY annoying.

The storyline is very pathetic. I don't know how to explain it. You are a Knight who goes by the name of... well ''Knight''. You have a little baby monster thing that looks like a pig. It has some very simple traits of taking care of baby, but that's one of the few innovations in this game. There are also living toys, little toys that can join you in battle. Pretty fun actually. But as far as story goes, this isn't deep at all, in fact it's quite shallow. That still won't stop you from playing the game.

And this game is very easy. I honestly didn't die once in this game, not even on the final boss. Collecting all of the living toys proves to be a challenge, though. It will be too easy for veteran RPG-ers.

Where this game takes off is in the level of fun. It's quite fun to play somehow. Nothing can stop this game from being fun. There are no really emotianal moments, or confusing twists; it's just pretty fun.

This game has a very boring storyline and boring characters, but it has a lot of what matters: fun. I know the review you just read gives somewhat mixed messeges, but in the end this game is pretty good. It doesn't win any awards, and can't even match up to games like Xenogears and FF7, but for those gamers out there looking for something simple, yet charming, and non-complex, get this game.
