Home Alone (NES) review

"Home Alone is based on the movie of the same name. Well, most people hate movie to game video games, but I just don't see what's so terrible about them. I have to ask a question: Is Home Alone really all that bad? It had a cool idea, that no game tried to copy (except, well, Home Alone on SNES and Genesis, but they're the same game). And I don't care what you say, I think Home Alone is actually an OK game. Sure the graphics and sound weren't memorable, and it was hard as fuck, but for some reaso..."

Home Alone is based on the movie of the same name. Sure the graphics and sound weren't memorable, and it was hard as fuck, but for some reason I really enjoyed playing it. I even beat it, but hit the start button before seeing the ending. Enough with this, let's get down with this game.

Graphics: I don't think these graphics are all that terrible. Sure, Kevin looks nothing like he should, plus Harry and Marv (DANIEL STERN ROCKS YOU) don't look anything like they should, but I thought the backgrounds were alright. But if you gave a shit about graphics you wouldn't be playing the NES now would you? Of course you wouldn't, friend.

Control: The control is a bit off, but since when is any control really perfect? Sometimes Kevin stops when you don't want him to, or drops the weapon before he should due to bad control, but I can look past that, because it isn't so bad once you get used to it.

Gameplay: This is where the game really shines. You play as Kevin who is trying to stop the burglars from stealing his stuff. He can pick up weapons and drop them so the burglars will fall, breaking there backs. Also the game runs for twenty minutes and if you do beat it, consider yourself a master of the unbeatable, because you now rock ass.

Challenge: Wow. This is really hard, due to the control sometimes being a pain, but if you work hard at it you just may some day beat this game, like I did. Thanks to a glitch, one of the bad guys stopped helping me win the game. Yay for glitches!

......BOTTOM LINE: Home Alone is really not as bad as people say. I would have to say it is T*HQ's best game ever (as it's not hard to beat such classics as ''Rocky and Bulwinkle''). Sure the game had crappy graphics, mediocre sound, and off control- it's the gameplay that helps the game from being thrown into the garbage pile with other THQ classics (COUGH Peter Pan and the Pirates COUGH).

Ghostbusters is, without a doubt, the worst game ever. No game is worse. Not only does it combine bad graphics, bland sound, lame control- but very (x200000000) bad gameplay. I doubt anyone actually played this game, but still I have to review a game that sucks, because it's easier to tell you why a game blows, then wh...
