Outlaw Golf (Xbox) review

"Woohoo! Finally another zany/fun golfers game hits the xbox. This game is going to be awsome!! Lets just hold that thought right there for a second. Your going to need my analysis on this game because trust me, this game isnt what it appears to be. Thankfully, i rented the game before i purchased it, which would have saved me a good well-earned pay check for another crusty golf game. Woohoo! Outlaw golf is supposed to be a non-official, non-profesional golf game which is made to be fun, and for laughs. Although Outlaw golf has proved to make this game a fun one, its actual golf gameplay is where the horrible reviews come into play.

After walking out of blockbuster with this game, I trully believed that I was in for a real treat, but as soon as i popped the disc into my powerful xbox, my thoughts slowly drifted away. At first this game looked very good, there are many options which you can play, such as skins, tournament mode, just regular play, and best ball. The characters seem to be quite comical, having their own personalities such as the lesbian (which i thought was great), the cool homeboy, the latino style golfer, and many others which seemed to be locked. Along with each character comes along a caddy.

Shortly after selecting my player, I discovered that there were only 3 golf courses which right then and there, made me flip. For renting this game would offer alot, but I knew that i would never purchase this game. There have been to many sport games that I have blown money on and I didnt want this one to be another lousy golfing game for the xbox platform sitting in my old, dusty, cd rack. Anyways, I started to play and discovered that the actual gameplay was not quite how i expected it to be. I didnt really like how the ball sliced after using the right thumbstick to give the ball power. Also when putting, sometimes the players body would actually block out the hole not letting you see where you were putting. I was expecting much better ball control, and slicing the ball was getting onto my nerves.

The neat thing about this game is the stress level of the players. When you make good shots, your meter rises (causing you to make better shots). When you start making poor shots, your metre decreases which makes your golfer make worse shots. The only way to get your meter from a sunken low is to beat up your caddy. Thats right, you heard it, you get to take out your frustration on the bag boy(LOL). **Sometimes i wish you can do this in real life**

Also, the characters have many humorous things to say as you play, depending on the golfers personality. The golfer makes remarks on your shots, and commentary is also on the more zany side. Although all this sound and humor is a good thing, it gets lame and boring FAST. (Notice how i wrote fast in capslock!) After hearing the golfers say what they say, and commentary this leaves the game to the basic point.. which is GOLF. And sorry to say, this game is really poor in the actual golf play. This game doesnt have nearly as much hazards needed for golf, as well as difficult holes. Adding more challenging holes, and hazards would of definatly helped out this game, but I think it was mainly focused on characters.

This game was obviously made for fun, and yes it has brought some of that to some level. But overall, I would stick to Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64 if you want a good, fun, and creative golf game. Outlaw golf? or is it Outlaw Shame?

Definatly not a game that is up to par for the xbox, but could definatly be fun to rent if you have a couple buddies over, (dont forget the beer).

Finally the wall crawling, web shooting, thug catching, super hero is back. Yes, straight from the movie theatres to the courtesy of your own home for the xbox, playstation 2, and the nintendo gamecube. And yes, i have played this game for all of the three consoles, and to my conclusion suggest that it is the best on t...
