I have never played a Sonic game in my life before this, and when I heard Sonic was coming to Gamecube, and with the lack of good games currently out, I knew I was going to buy Sonics Adventure. Now some people call this a bad buy, but it is definitely not. I love this game, and I prefer it to Resedent Evil and maybe Smash Brothers for this system. I have put many hours into going through the game just trying to beat it. Sure, I won't be the person going after 180 emblems, but if I was that is even more to do in Sonics Adventure, so what problem is there.

STORY (15/15): The best platform story ever in my mind. With games like Mario/Metroid there was very little to go on, but in Sonic there was a cutscene after every level giving more detail to the Sonic story. There are twists like the whole thing about Rouge the Bat (the superior character) and about who Shadow is. Plus the combination of stories to finish things off was nice. All in all this is the greatest platform story.

GRAPHICS (14/20): Sure they resemble Dreamcast graphics, but I never had a dreamcast so I find them particuraly amazing. All the enemies look powerful, and the levels amazing. However I will stick the horrible camera into this category or the rating would be much higher. The camera will cause you multiple deaths throughout, annoyingly enough and definitely has its amount of problems.

SOUND (8/10): Somebody is bound to chop off my head for this one. I am actually fond of the variety of music. Sure Knuckles rap gets kinda annoying, but it is not that bad. It gives each character his/her style, plus the music at the VERY end is amazing. I liked the music in Sonic, and I might be the only person in the world that did (and no, in real life I listen to normal rock, not rap and gay stuff like that)

GAMEPLAY (32/40): The control are pretty well responsive on each character. I will split the gameplay into three groups: Speedsters/Fighters/Searchers. The Speedsters are Sonic/Shadow. They have high speed levels were you go zooming through after rings and attack enemies with your little homing ball attack. I love these levels, and it is the high point of the game. Next comes the fighters. This reminds me of the Starfox games I have grown to love, and I can't figure out why people do not enjoy them. Tails/Eggman give a little fighting style to them, and they too are very amazing to play with. The Searchers are where it hurts. I hate searching for those emeralds cause it is so damn hard. If they were easier, or not in the game at all (But the characters would have to be, cause they are the best two) the game would be near perfection. There is also subgames like the races, which is great for an ingame kartrace. Also there is the ability to take each level 5 times to go for different objectives, and all 180 emblems. I would never have the patience for this, but if someone did this is a great add in which will help for awhile. This game is very interesting, and I have been playing it for a long time.

REPLAYABILITY (8/10): There is a good amount of replayability in Sonics Adventure. First there is the task of beating it, which is not too long nor too short. But once you do you then have to go for all 180 emblems, which will definitely take out a chunk of time. There is also Chao World where you can raise little blueguys and make them compete in races and in fights. I probably won't do too mcuh into all of these, but the replay oppurtunity is definitely there.

DIFFICULTY (5/5): Not too easy, not too hard. God, I like when games are like that. I can actually beat it, but I didn't walk through it either. The difficulty is perfect, and is entertaining. Specially too get all ''A'' ratings will give you hard gamers something to do, and I know I will never pull it off, but some of you experts might.

OVERALL (82/100): Sadly, this is the highest rating for Sonics Adventure, but why is that. This game is awesome, and if it weren't for the minor problems of the camera and the exploring stages this game would be near perfection. In my mind this is potentially the best Gamecube game out. I might have to get a Sega just so I can play the best Sonic games, cause if they are as cool as this one they are definitely worth a playthrough!!!

Rating: 8.2/10
