Soul Calibur, I thought would never surpass the Mortal Kombat series. When my sister introduced it to me, I wasn't really that excited to play it and get into it. IT looked really stupid, if you asked me. Heck, there wasn't even any blood in it! Little did I know that there need not be blood to make a good fighting game.

The Graphics are some of the best I've ever seen in my personal gaming life, yeah, of course, blah-blah. They darn well better be, if it is th all-new, most powerful Dreamcast gaming console. Moving on to some more important areas. . .

The Sound and Music are some of the best that I thought a fighting game could ever possibly possess. You can hear EVERY, SINGLE SOUND that the fighters make, and the music is awesome, sometimes I just kick back and not play to just listen to the music!!

The Difficulty is just my level. Not too hard, but definitely not too easy, I love the difficulty of this game. It isn't one of those games that you could never beat in less than five years, but it isn't like others where you can beat it in ten minutes. And there are about six difficulty settings, which adds to the excitement and your skill level.

The Controls are awesome, just awesome. Being the new, high-tech, complicated Dreamcast controller, you'd think that all the buttons are complex. Really, they're not, four attack buttons, a block button, four directional buttons, and a Soul Charge button. They also fit perfectly into your hand, unlike the MK games for N64.

The Story is the best I have ever had the privilege of witnessing. Each and every character of the game has a separate story to tell, and they all have many different endings to the game. And they are all different, not the same!

Overall, I love this game, it is one of the best I have ever played. It is reason alone to get a Dreamcast for full price. If you have just SC, you can throw all of your Mortal Kombat games out the window! Every kind of person will like this game, my sister never liked the Mortal Kombat series. Then she got into Soul Calibur. The main reason for this is because there is no blood or gore, which doesn't really impact gameplay all that much, except that more parents will permit it. Ignore the Teen rating, because the worst thing you see is probably a person getting slashed with a whip. All factors considered, Soul Calibur is a great, great game.

Graphics: 10/10

Sound/Music: 10/10

Difficulty: 10/10

Controls: 10/10

Overall: 10/10 (not an average)

Final Thought: If you like Mortal Kombat, you would only be hurting yourself to not pick up a copy of this great game Soul Calibur, made by Namco. Also try its counterpart, Soul Edge.

Rating: 10/10
