Title: Laptops I own are cursed Posted: November 16, 2009 (07:44 PM)
I woke up today and my laptop wouldn't boot up. When I press the button I hear the fan but windows never comes up. Last night it was working fine. I'm posting this from a library computer on campus. I hope it can be fixed at least temporarily because if not I will have lost about twenty reviews in progress.

That would suck if you lost all those. I want to read something new from you.
Mine does that every now and then, too. I'm not sure what causes it, but maybe every ten times I try to turn it on, it has a power glitch. The light will come on, the fan will start but it will keep going, which is usually the sign it's not going to boot up, because it's actually incredibly quiet.
When it does that, I have to hold the button down to shut if off, then push it again, it will light up and then turn off completely. I follow that same process five or six times, until finally the light stays on and the fan goes off, and I'm able to log in.

None of them were really fully formed reviews. But what happens is that an idea or a sentence or a few sentences will just come to me, usually when I'm in the shower or something, and I'll open a word document and write them down before I forget them. It'll often happen on separate, multiple occasions for the same game, and for some games I had about 500 words of ideas and phrases down, particularly for SSBM, SSBB, and Godhand. Usually even when I finish my review those ideas and phrases end up being the best parts because they were born out of raw, effortless insight. If I can recover them I plan to put them on Google Documents or some shit since laptops hate me.

You may actually want to try an online storage site. Fileden is pretty straight-forward and free, but you do have to log in and go through their "would you like to try this weight loss program" offer every 30 days, but it's better than some others out there.
