This was my first time working with an editor, and it's been quite a revealing experience. I was shocked by how much he was able to trim here and there to keep the article running more smoothly. There are a few parts that received some unwanted changes, but for the most part, his edits were improvements.
As one of my old film production instructors said, "Cut out your mother's face." Sometimes, you have to cut out the one thing that's most important to you, but unimportant to the piece as a whole.

Writers have a similar saying that goes something like "Kill your babies." Writing is a creation, so it kind of fits. You kill the segments that you like a lot but that don't really work for the piece when you sit back and think about it for a minute. More reviewers need to do that, honestly. It's one thing I've really started trying to do on my reviews for the last year or so and the results speak for themselves. Congratulations on your editorial!

Good job. I tried killing someone dear to me once, but it didn't turn out so well. I'm going to go eat some chicken.

That was an interesting read. Also, WAL-MART ugh. Even in the Northeast it's full of white trash.

There's usually a hottie or two, though. I can't remember the last time I walked into a Wal-Mart during normal hours without seeing a hottie. Even here in Newport. They're outnumbered by fat soccer moms and hillbillies, but they definitely exist.

I'm a Target guy myself. The only time I ever go to Wal-Mart is if I want something after 10pm. It is nice to go there for video game releases at midnight as well.
