Reader review by zippdementia (February 09, 2012) Take all of that advice and you'll still probably fail. Remember, just because I'm recommending this game doesn't make me responsible for any damage that your iphone occurs as a result of rage. Yeah, the game doesn't pull any punches and sometimes wavers dangerously on the cheap side of challenging. Still, that makes it all the more fun when you do beat a level, despite the odds, and know that it had nothing to do with wussy Save Stars, but was all a result of your pure white-hot skill. |

Reader review by PAJ89 (June 26, 2011) Bar Oasis is a far more enjoyable experience if you think of it as an interactive story rather than a game... And that’s surprising considering how mundane this tale is. |

Staff review by Jason Venter (May 19, 2011) Destructopus! takes a simple approach. You walk from left to right and along the way, you ruin buildings and machinery and vehicles and military guys in green fatigues by kicking them and biting them. If a target is low, you demolish it with your feet. If it’s high, you snack on it with teeth the size of cars. It’s also possible to fire laser beams from your eyes. That’s just what giant monsters do. |

Reader review by PAJ89 (May 04, 2011) The trappings of the adventure genre conspire against Hector on numerous occasions, paperclip fishing with a condom and investigating the Exotico returns box spring instantly to mind. |

Reader review by JANUS2 (March 12, 2011) If Hook Champ was a glorious tribute to 8-bit action, Super QuickHook is a disappointing reminder of the worst excesses of the 16-bit era. |

Reader review by pickhut (March 06, 2011) Whereas Time Crisis Strike is like a demo with its short length and mostly tame action, 2nd Strike actually feels like a full, legit title. Instead of three short levels taking place in one town, the sequel includes 10 stages spanning dock warehouses, forests, warehouses, subways, and more warehouses. Namco also fiddled with the play mechanics, and with that, what you get is something more intense than its predecessor. |

Reader review by pickhut (March 02, 2011) When I came across a Time Crisis game in the App Store, I had high doubts that it could translate well on The Little Touch Screen DooHickey of Wonders. Is the hit detection going to be precise? How is the duck move going to be handled? Surprisingly, the basic play mechanics are ported very well in Time Crisis Strike. |

Staff review by Jason Venter (February 09, 2011) The process of game development is engaging thanks to its hands-on nature. You are the one who assembles the team that builds each game, after all, and you are the one who gets to decide how much time and money to spend training those folks so that they can do a better job the second, third or fortieth time around. If you want to blow your budget hiring expensive outside talent (which almost always boasts stats superior to your in-house talent until nearly the end of the game), you can also do that but you can’t guarantee fantastic results no matter how much you spend. |

Staff review by Tim Ayre (July 26, 2010) For the first few hours Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night feels like a fresh and innovative take on an old classic. Sadly, the longer it drags on the more you’ll wish that you were just playing the real Symphony of the Night. |

Reader review by JANUS2 (July 24, 2010) Union City is a dystopian vision of Sydney in which the ideas of most major science-fiction authors and film-makers have come true. Surrounded by a post-apocalyptic outback setting that recalls Mad Max, the city is guarded by a protective dome designed to keep savages out and citizens in. It’s an Orwellian surveillance state controlled by an artificial intelligence modelled on HAL 9000, a Brave New World of scientific “progress” where wealthy hedonists oppress and abuse the weak and poor.... |
