The 3rd Birthday (PSP) cover art sample
News article by Skyler Bunderson (December 01, 2011)

Hajime Tabata is the director for both Final Fantasy Type-0 and The 3rd Birthday, the latter of which is the third entry in the Parasite Eve franchise. It would seem Tabata has not yet tired of Aya Brea, the series' protagonist, as he's expressed an interest in continuing her story even further.

Final Fantasy Type-0 (PSP) cover art sample
News article by Skyler Bunderson (November 29, 2011)

Despite topping Japanese sales charts, Final Fantasy Type-0 has always been in an awkward position when it comes to getting a localization. The Vita is only a few months away, and Type-0 is a PSP game with no US release date. Worse yet, every "confirmation" of it being localized has turned out to be false. All that changes now, as an overseas version has finally been confirmed.

Final Fantasy Type-0 (PSP) cover art sample
News article by Skyler Bunderson (November 05, 2011)

With the Playstation Vita releasing soon, the PSP is soon to be on its way out. However, that's not stopping it from knocking one out of the ballpark. Final Fantasy Type-0, the latest Final Fantasy spin-off for Sony's portable system, has managed to top Japanese sales charts despite fierce competition.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP) cover art sample
Reader review by zippdementia (November 02, 2011)

In all areas, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is a nice break from the traditional RPG experience. The story is engaging, the combat is fast-paced and the gimmicks work. The biggest indicator of its success, though, is the fact that I was captivated throughout three playthroughs. Never once did I feel like I’d “been there and done that.” That alone is worth a recommendation.

Corpse Party (PSP) cover art sample
News article by Skyler Bunderson (November 01, 2011)

Fans of horror have probably had Corpse Party on their radar since its announcement. XSEED's ghoulish adventure game is a download-only title soon to make its appearance on PSN. However, for quite some time, excited gamers have only had “Fall” as the estimated time of arrival. That's finally been narrowed down, and we now know that the game should be hitting PSN this month.

Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle (PSP) cover art sample
Staff review by Brittany Vincent (March 24, 2011)

If you’re a newcomer and you need an entry point to Phantom Brave, I would suggest beginning with the great Wii port and then gravitating to the PSP for handheld strategizing should you still ache for more. For everyone else who has already exhausted the PlayStation 2 original and Wii re-release, this really isn’t something I would recommend adding to your collection unless the potential to take Marona with you on the go is a serious selling point. This is an interesting try at making the game a portable smash, but in the end it falls a little short of the mark. Get a Wii, and try it there.

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! (PSP) cover art sample
Staff review by Brittany Vincent (March 24, 2011)

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! is a side-scrolling throwback that classic gamers should definitely enjoy. From its distinctly Disgaea-flavored personality to its endless inside jokes, the game is a fun ride from start to finish...that is, if you can keep up the pace. The added "Baby Mode" will be a boon for players who couldn't hack it in the first game, without ever dumbing the game down enough to make it a pushover. As for the overall game, it features the perfect amount of charm and personality to win you over. And if its first overture doesn't work? It's got 999 other ways to make you smile...

Astonishia Story (PSP) cover art sample
Staff review by Gary Hartley (January 01, 2011)

I can’t help but think of Astonisha Story bravely treading water. It was never in its nature to be spectacular, but it could have settled with quietly competent had Ubisoft thrown it a life preserver rather than hurled rocks from the shore.

Pocket Pool (PSP) cover art sample
Staff review by Marc Golding (December 30, 2010)

HyperDevbox Japan surely set out to do something different, by giving us ‘erotic pool.’ The word on the street is that publishers Conspiracy and Eidos sought to use the Girls Gone Wild license and do something really distinct, but talks fell through. As such, we’re stuck with a random collection of stills and short video clips of nude models and outright porn stars as our erotic content.

Knights in the Nightmare (PSP) cover art sample
Staff review by Greg Knoll (November 06, 2010)

Once Knights starts, it’s a non-stop struggle that requires constant action in order to win. You don’t simply move your units into range before you can attack. For the most part, your soldiers remain stationary unless their attack leads them forward, while the enemies stalk the battlefield in a regimented pattern. The only freedom in movement you’re allowed is via the wisp, controlled by the analog stick. He can move anywhere on the field, to any corner of the screen, to execute your strategy.
