Final Fantasy X-2 (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Reader review by SkylerBunderson (January 28, 2012)

Having finally played and completed Final Fantasy X-2 after all these years, I find that it is neither as bad as its detractors have painted it, nor is it as good as its fanbase says it is. It's not as good as its predecessor, but it's far from being the worst entry in the series, as some would have you believe.

Scarface: The World is Yours (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Reader review by JoeTheDestroyer (January 07, 2012)

Adding difficulty is important to any game, but turning up the frustration factor too high with little payoff can cause anyone to burn out. With little variety, there's little to help cool the tension. You'll either tough out the frustration or spend your time on something more worthwhile. Either that, or you'll just play Scarface again and pretend it ends after you've secured the first half of Miami.

Red Dead Revolver (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Reader review by JoeTheDestroyer (December 13, 2011)

Read Dead Revolver's style will mesmerize and the intermittent fun will keep you, and maybe that's what hurts the most. I know I've said this before, but sometimes the worst 'bad games' are the ones you think you're going to love. Once the spell it has over you breaks, so does your heart.

Tales of the Abyss (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Staff review by Rob Hamilton (December 02, 2011)

As you play, though, you'll notice a dark side to the powers that be relying on The Score as their be-all, end-all source of guidance; especially when it's made clear than a number of huge tragedies were caused by man solely to keep things in line with The Score.

ICO (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Reader review by holdthephone (October 20, 2011)

Back in 2001 when Ico was first released there was scarcely anything quite like it. Perhaps, like many games of the past, it was over-praised for being something different where now it may seem aged – a feat of its time and little else. Now given a re-release and the HD treatment, Ico is perhaps just another example of a developer aiming to cash in on nostalgia. What is strange, however, is that Ico in 2011 is grabbing players in the same way it did 10 years ago, players who are entering its cas...

Under the Skin (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Reader review by pickhut (October 09, 2011)

There's even a Resident Evil 3-themed level, including zombies, a hulked-out Nemesis, and Jill Valentine, the latter which you can transform into and... yes, see in her undies.

Call of Duty 3 (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Staff review by Rob Hamilton (September 09, 2011)

Whether it be the Americans, Canadians, British or Polish, there will be arguments and in-fighting as the troops are faced with imminent death while pushing into occupied territory. Well, maybe not the Poles, as their main purpose seems to be to provide Treyarch an excuse to toss a touch of tank combat into the mix.

Dragon Ball Z: Sagas (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Reader review by JoeTheDestroyer (August 06, 2011)

Dragon Ball Z: Sagas is an uninteresting brawler made worse by a gaping hole in the gameplay. It was a novel idea turning DBZ into a brawler, but Avalanche would have been better off taking the expected route in creating an arcade style beat 'em up.

Gradius V (PlayStation 2) cover art sample
Reader review by pickhut (August 01, 2011)

I've stated that I like playing the first Gradius because of its fine balance, but Gradius V is the first time in the main series where I've genuinely enjoyed playing the whole thing, from start to finish.
