Welcome to my blog. My latest blog entry is right below, I have Dr. Pepper in the fridge, and you're not allowed to use the toilet down the hall. Go to bluberry's blog and use his instead.
Title: Yup, you probably won't see any new reviews from me for quite some time... Posted: October 29, 2009 (04:13 AM)
It's 5:45am as I begin to type this, silently, but it feels like 10am. I'm currently keeping an eye on my Dad, who has gone through a sudden change in the way he acts thanks to his cancer spreading. A cancer we can do nothing about. He's still aware of his family, but he has completely lost track of time, mumbling about events that have happened a week, months, and a year ago as if it happened mere hours ago. He also now has trouble doing simple tasks like using the remote or computer. When he isn't being like this, he has drifted in and out of sleep every 2 minutes for the past 4 days, sometimes attempting to get up after "waking up", which is an impossible task in itself, since it normally requires two people to help him up and walk due to his weak legs. It's hard seeing him like this, because he's basically gone at this point. Lost. And it has taken a toll on my Mom, who has had a hard time sleeping since. This is why I'm here, silently typing at 6:10am, watching my Dad, so my Mom can sleep. He was acting so fine a week ago. What a difference.
I'll probably regret typing all of this up later, but for now, I just need a silent release...
The current picture is from Tetris Plus for the Game Boy, a game he has been playing probably every day for the last 7/8 years. He is the man that got me into playing video games at an such an early age.

Cancer fucking sucks, man. I really hope things turn out well for you.
I'll make sure Boo gets bullied enough for both of us in your absence.

Yeah, dude... That's awful. While there are / were people in my family who've had / currently have cancer, I at least never had to actually watach it deteriorate in them... Nor has it affected anyone as close to me as a parent. (Though my father has a horrific disease of his own that I have to watch him suffer with...)
Anyway, wow. That really sucks. I really hope things get better for you soon - if that's really possible in a situation like this. Anyway, whatever happens, I'm sure you'll get through it just fine. Even if it is really hard for a while.

I really feel for you man. A few years back, I had to go through my father's struggles with Alzheimer's and that was real rough. As someone who had to live through a loved family member gradually deteriorate due to an unstoppable disease, that's about the last thing I'd ever wish on anyone. The whole thing just sucks and that's really all I can say about it.

It's okay, Pickhut. This review of your dad's condition and your current life was one of the most touching and relevant you've ever written. It will last us a while.

I can't really add anything to this that others haven't already said, but I hope things go as well for you and your family during this difficult time as they possibly can given the circumstances. I'll be hoping for the best!
