The new Contra Hard Corps game has me very worried

Brief Footage

I'm not digging the art style, which looks very Guilty Gear-ish. I know the developer for the game is Arc System Works, but cmon, they could have used a different style. It just comes off being lazy. Also, the action looks very weak, and I'm hoping that it's just because this is the start of the game. And one more thing: life bar?! They better take that junk out before the game gets released.

The original Hard Corps had a lifebar, too (in Japan). This is one of the few times that a Konami sequel should have been led by Americans!

Well, it just feels like they've never actually played or seen Hard Corps in action, because that's the impression I'm getting from this small clip. It's almost like they've slapped on the Hard Corps name and included some minor related elements just to draw in the nostalgic players.

Still, the game's not finished, but things aren't looking pretty at the moment...
