Portal: Still Alive = Valve ripping off Xbox 360 users.
October 18, 2008

Since this title is coming out next week as a download, I figured I would do some research on it. Now, I knew for some time that it was an "expansion" of the original Portal game, but through info searching, I found out exactly what kind of "expansion" it was.

Portal: Still Alive is the original Portal game, plus new achievements and levels for 1200 MS Points. That's right, if you bought The Orange Box, you'll be buying Portal for the second time. But the extra levels would be worth it, right? No, no, no, no, no, no... no. Turns out, the extra levels are actually 3D versions of a free, fan-made, 2D, flash Portal tribute.

Still, you could probably make the argument that they're 3D versions, which justify the cost. If you thought that, you might want to know there's already a free, fan-made, 3D version made by the same people who made the flash version, and contains all 40 levels.

Yeah, what the hell, Valve.

I might pick up The Orange Box for PC, I need to stop using my friend's copy of TF2 all the time.

either that or Left 4 Dead, I dunno. but probably not both cause then I'll end up spending $200 on games by the end of the year (Gears 2 and the new Prince of Persia, too) and I don't really want to.
