Title: Thunderstorms: a pain in my ass.
Posted: May 16, 2009 (09:16 PM)
Crap damn, it felt like every single day for the last two weeks there's always a thunderstorm popping up in my area. I can't go outside, I can't use my computer (thanks to many past experiences, I unplug my computer at even the sound of thunder from a distance), I can't really do anything. I'd be fine if I could watch tv, but thanks to my pussy Direct TV satellite, I lose the signal when it rains. I actually spent the last 2 hours playing NBA Jam and Picross on my Game Boy. That's how boring it got.

Just please... stop coming every day.

Title: Just when I thought I was done with Virtual On for now...
Posted: April 29, 2009 (10:32 AM)
Virtual On: OT came out today for XBLA.

Sega! *shakes fists*

I have to relearn the controls, too, since I wasn't too fond of the default configuration, and went for the twin stick configuration, instead. Doesnt help that Sega goofed up with the training tutorial, only showing you the controlling for the default setup. Thanks.

Title: To the 1% who watch the videos I submit to this site:
Posted: April 03, 2009 (11:49 PM)
Have my recent videos been kinda... skippy? I've noticed that the framerate, I guess, just doesn't seem right, which is odd. They look just fine when I view them on my computer's video players, and even when I first upload them to YouTube. But the moment the HQ option becomes available, the video just ends up looking jumpy.

I haven't really done anything different when it comes to video conversion, so I really don't understand why it's doing this.

Edit: Well, I've noticed with my Virtua Fighter videos that they seem to get a little better if I wait a little longer. I've noticed it's mostly been doing it with my recent Saturn videos, so maybe it's just those.

Beyond Oasis

Here was a game I've been meaning to re-review for quite some time now (my first review remained on GameFAQs... until now, that is), especially after I did my review of The Legend of Oasis. Finally got around to doing it.

Title: My Saturn emulator seems to hate running my The Horde disc

This is the best picture I could take.

It simply refuses to run anything after the intro.

Title: Purchased Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus off of Steam a few days ago
Posted: March 26, 2009 (11:22 AM)
Just under $4 for both.

Anyway, tried playing Abe's Oddysee last night for an hour, and... I don't think I've ever been this stressed out about remembering to press the right combination of buttons at the right time. This game takes the "know what to do after you die" aspect to the extreme.

I found out, after writing this review, that the game originally had a cursor in the Japanese version (Deadalus). Odd that they removed it. They could have at least made it smaller.

Title: That had to be the most incompetent match I've recently played in Team Fortress 2
Posted: March 14, 2009 (05:20 PM)
It was on the Well map, you know, that map that's been with the game since it was released. We were fighting for the middle control point, the one with the trains passing by. Most of our team was concentrating on getting to it on the surface. I decided to be a Spy and check the place out. No one was guarding it, not even sentries. The ONLY person guarding it was a Scout with that annoyingly unbalanced stun weapon. So, I kept telling my team that the point wasn't being guarded. Nothing happened. They continued to rush towards it on the surface, where the opposing side kept attacking. Then I told them again, and told them to take the water path to get inside. Nothing happened. I continued to be killed by that one Scout. I told them one more time. I don't know what happened next, because I lost my connection at that point.

My head hurts...

Spot Goes to Hollywood

I've seen some videos on YouTube of the original Genesis version, and it looks like a completely different game. Looks more playable, too. I might have to check this out one day.

Snaps, yo.

Was never good at the original game, back when it was in the arcades, and I never played this version. I just wanted a new blog entry...

Title: Well, yeah, I find this out after I get a HDTV...
Posted: February 20, 2009 (09:03 PM)
And after I spent seven hours messing with it: my DirectTV Receiver doesn't support HDTV, which explained why the picture quality was horrible compared to my old TV that I had for over 10 years.

Screw it, I'm not charging extra for a HDTV Receiver, this TV is going back tomorrow...

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad

Edit note: I just realized that the Wii version is a sequel to the 360 game, which forced me to modify the ending of the review a tiny bit. I think it's a sequel... I looked at gameplay footage and a lot of places look similar, which automatically made me think they were the same games before.
