During a video conference last night/this morning, Nintendo unveiled New Super Mario Bros. 2 for Nintendo 3DS. The game is presumably the 2D sidescroller that the company previously had promised for the system, though it's still a bit of a surprise to see the game revealed ahead of the E3 position. Nintendo must have other plans for the convention.

The NDP may not be as forthcoming with sales figures as it once was, but it has revealed the early sales numbers of March's Kid Icarus: Uprising. It managed to move 140,000 units in the eight days between its launch and the end of the month, making it one of the top ten selling platform-specific versions of a game last month. (Exactly where in that top ten list Uprising places remains a mystery.)
