Dead Island's Ryder White DLC rides toward a Jan. 31 release

After making things even bloodier with its Bloodbath Arena DLC late last year, Dead Island will put players on the other side of the story with the "Ryder White" downloadable content pack. The DLC will be available on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Windows PC on Jan. 31 in North America (Feb. 1 in Europe) and run for 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99.
If you followed Dead Island's story, you might recognize the name Ryder White: He's the game's antagonist -- the one who unleashed the zombies on that beautiful island. You'll play as Mr. White in this DLC, and you'll learn some details on his motives and his background as a "military man and loving husband."
Deep Silver says "Ryder White" will add several hours of story content to Dead Island, with plenty of "twists and turns that'll shed new light on the game's happenings." Two new weapon blueprints will also be added.
One thing that still won't be making an appearance: an explanation as to why my Dead Island character's dull knife did more damage than her sharp one.
