Namco Bandai Games announced today that development on Soul Calibur 5 is complete. The Project Soul-developed fighter is scheduled to welcome you back (again) to the stage of history when it releases on Jan. 31.

It's set 17 years after Soul Calibur IV, which doesn't completely explain the inclusion of Ubisoft's Ezio Auditore da Firenze (of Assassin's Creed fame) as a playable character in the game, but we'll take it! Right?

Gamers who pick up the game's special edition will get a nifty game box, an art book, soundtrack and downloadable content codes for armor sets and another playable character: Dampierre. Namco will also be organizing a tournament after the game comes out, according to a press release, and more details will soon follow, the company said.

Will you finally be dropping Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for this brawler later this month?
