Bethesda patching Skyrim's patch, Creation Kit coming in January

Remember that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim patch released this week? Sure, it might've fixed some things, but I'm pretty sure making dragons fly backward wasn't a part of the plan.

Bethesda is hoping to fix this error, along with other bugs users have reported since the patch went live (like improperly calculated magic resistance), with another patch next week. In the meantime, it might be a good idea to not download the current patch (if you haven't already), especially if you haven't had much to complain about during your Skyrim experience. The patch should hit early in the week for PC/Steam players; the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will follow (in all likelihood on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, according to, well, history).

Bethesda is fully aware next week's patch won't be Skyrim's last, as they've mentioned the game will continue to be regularly updated after the holiday season to address bugs that pop up here and there.

"We all know this is a huge game, and everyone has a different experience," the developer wrote on its blog. "We’ll continue to do everything we can to make the game better and better for as many people as possible every day."

The studio is also prepping Skyrim's Creation Kit (mod tools) for release in January. They're aiming at including Steam Workshop in the kit, so Steam users can have "free user content at the click of a button."

Wouldn't it be great to get your hands on the Creation Kit and mod all the dragons to make them fly backwards? That'd be pretty hil-- oh, wait.
