Dark Souls Ships a Cool 1.5 Million Worldwide
It seems that From Software has another hit on its hands, and deservedly so. The developer and their publisher, Namco Bandai, have announced that their latest RPG, Dark Souls, has shipped 1.5 million units worldwide.

It probably helps that Dark Souls is the follow up to 2009's surprise hit, Demon's Souls. Incidentally, even that game "only" managed to sell 500,000 copies in its first eight months. Much more than expected, but only a third of the 1.5 million shipped in the single month since Dark Souls' release. (Dark Souls is also on both PS3 and Xbox 360, while Demon's Souls was a PS3 exclusive.)
Namco Bandai took the time to break that impressive number down by region. 620,000 copies have been shipped to North America, 470,000 to Europe, 370,000 to Japan (Where the game is PS3 exclusive), and 40,000 to the rest of Asia. Not bad at all.
