Epic Games' first downloadable content pack for Gears of War 3, the "Horde Command Pack," has been "temporarily delayed due to a technical issue," according to a post on the official Epic forums by the studio's community manager, Will Kinsler.

Update: It took the folks at Epic Games less than a day to figure out whatever technical difficulties the "Horde Command Pack" was having, and the downloadable content is now availble on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The forum post originally citing the delay has now vanished from Epic's forums. Those of you who'll be downloading the DLC, let us know how you like those new fortifications!

Epic Games' first downloadable content pack for Gears of War 3, the "Horde Command Pack," has been "temporarily delayed due to a technical issue," according to a post on the official Epic forums by the studio's community manager, Will Kinsler. It was initially set to launch on the Xbox Live Marketplace today.

"We apologize to those of you who are anxiously awaiting to play. We know this is disappointing news as we’ve seen a lot of posts today showing excitement for this content," said Kinsler in the forum post. "We have folks working around the clock to resolve this issue ASAP so you can all play and enjoy the 'Command Pack.'"

Epic offered no further details on when the delayed DLC will become available, but Kinsler did promise to keep fans "posted."

The "Horde Command Pack," set at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), will add three new maps, new characters, weapon skins and fortifications to the game's infinitely fun Horde Mode, in which up to five cooperative players are tasked with surviving 50 waves of increasingly difficult Locust and Lambent enemies. We'll let you know as soon as Epic resolves the issue(s) and makes the pack available for download.
