Nintendo Switch owners can eventually look forward to owning an intriguing new puzzle game called Treasure Stack. The title was revealed today in Nintendo's video presentation, the Nindies Summer Showcase.

Developed and published by Pixelakes, Treasure Stack is a competitive puzzle game for as many as four players. Local and online play will be supported.

"Treasure Stack takes falling block mechanics and fuses them with grappling hooks and platforming heroes to create an addictive puzzler you won't be able to put down," states a press release issued earlier today. "Test your skill in Challenge mode, compete with friends in Local Versus mode, or jump into Online Versus and battle head to head!"

It's not always easy to tell why Nintendo chooses to highlight some games in its various showcase presentations while completely ignoring other promising candidates, but Treasure Stack does give off an appealing retro vibe. It reminds me a bit of Wario's Woods, which could allow it to become an addictive distraction whenever it launches (early next year is looking likely).

If you want to get your hands on Treasure Stack ahead of its release, you might be in luck. The developer is showing it at Nintendo's PAX West booth, from August 31 to September 3, 2018. Also, a PC demo is being offered to members of the official Treasure Stack Discord.
