Pier Solar going HD with Kickstarter's help
These guys really love Sega.
Pier Solar is a Genesis RPG that's mostly noteworthy for being released in 2010, a good 15 years after the Genesis stopped being relevant.
Pier Solar's developers have decided that their game deserves some attention from more than just the people who buy games for dead hardware, so they've launched a Kickstarter to fund ports to other dead hardware. Also not-dead hardware.
The project aims to gussy up the game in HD and release it on Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and Linux. A Dreamcast version is also planned. Yes, the game will be ported to Dreamcast before it will be ported to PS3.
As of writing, the project has received $19,315 of its targeted $139,000 worth of pledges, with 29 days to go. It's off to a good start. Rewards range from copies of the game to physical collector's editions to parties with the developers in Paris. That's surely worth $7,500.
