Grand Theft Auto V confirmed for Spring 2013 launch, pre-orders start in November
A PC version of the title does not currently sound likely.
Rockstar Games today confirmed a Spring 2013 release window for Grand Theft Auto V, setting a more solid launch date for the title announced nearly a year ago.
The Rockstar Noth-developed open-world adventure will take place in the Los Santos, the Southern California-inspired city that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas took place in, except, this time around, the town is present-day-inspired, rather than the '90s-inspired vibe in San Andreas.
Rockstar also announced retailers will begin taking pre-orders for GTAV starting next week on Nov. 5.
Curiously enough, the publisher only mentioned PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 releases in its initial post. However, after questions about a PC version, a Rockstar moderator responded:
"Hey guys, glad to see so much enthusiasm about the release announcement. For those asking about the PC platform, we're currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don't have any details to share about a PC version at this time."
At the very least, you now know to avoid looking silly when you head to your favorite retailer on Nov. 5 by not trying to pre-order a PC version.
