The Slingshot Content Pack will catapult our way 'soon.'

2K Games announced today the first downloadable content pack for the recently released XCOM: Enemy Unknown, according to a press release. It's called the Slingshot Content Pack, and it currently has an ambiguous release date of "soon."

However, we at least have some details on what Slingshot will consist of: namely, a new set of linked Council missions, which includes three new maps, a new squad member and new character customization options. The DLC will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players, but much like its release date, pricing information on Slingshot has yet to become available.

Aside from Slingshot, 2K Games also let us know the Elite Soldier Pack, a small upgrade pack initially only available to those who pre-ordered Enemy Unknown, is now available to download by the general public. It consists soldier customization tools and goes for $4.99 (or 400 Microsoft Points).
