Darksiders II's creative director leaves Vigil Games
Joe Madureira exits the studio he helped found.
Just two months after its ship date, Darksiders II's studio, Vigil Games, is losing its creative director: Joe Madureira.
Madureira, also a comic book artist, announced his departure from Vigil, a studio he co-founded, earlier today via his Twitter account. He'd spent the past seven years at the studio creating both Darksiders and Darksiders II.
"So long @Vigilgames @THQ thanks for all the memories! @Darksiders was definitely a career highlight," he tweeted. "Keep on kicking ass I'm a fan for life!"
He later elaborated on his feelings on the departure on his Facebook page, writing "I can safely say Vigil's future is in very good hands, so expect only awesomeness down the road."
As for what's down the road for him? Madureira mentioned he'd be "banging out a bunch of comics" in the short term, but that he definitely is not leaving the gaming world.
"I haven't left games or returned to comics. I'm a creature of both worlds and always will be," he tweeted.
