New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC is coming soon

New Super Mario Bros. 2 image

Three levels for 200 yen.

Nintendo released a miniature Nintendo Direct video last night, and in it they revealed the first wave of New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC.

The DLC comes in the form of Coin Rush mode courses. Each pack costs 200 yen (which will probably translate to $2 in North America) and contains one course of three levels.

The first wave consists of three packs. First is the Go! Go! Gold Mario pack, which is all about the coins. It seems that you play as Gold Mario through all three stages, and there are gold enemies everywhere. There's also the Challenge the Record Pack A, which includes access to online leaderboards, and the Survival Panic Pack, which will probably make you tear your hair out.

These three packs hit Japan on October 2nd, with more coming closer to the end of October and the end of November. There's no North American date, but it's probably not too far off.
