The Last Express arrives on iOS September 27

Check out this hidden gem on iPhone and iPad.

All aboard... for MURDER!

Classic point and click adventure game The Last Express, from Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner, arrives on iOS September 27.

Combining Mechner's trademark rotoscoped animation with a real-time world in which characters go about their own lives regardless of the player, The Last Express is quite a unique game. It's become something of a hidden gem after the game was a commercial disaster upon initial release in 1997. The Last Express had very little money left for marketing after a four-year development process sapped most of the available budget. Despite bombing, the title received critical acclaim from mainstream outlets such as USA Today and Newsweek, a big achievement for the time.

Mechner worked with French distributor DotEmu to bring The Last Express to a whole new audience on PC last year, but now even more gamers will get a chance to experience this underplayed classic on iPhone and iPad. The game has been updated for the platform with new touch controls and rolls into the station on September 27. Give it a look if you like adventure games or want a truly unique gaming experience.

You can also get The Last Express now on PC from DotEmu and GOG. The download includes a walkthrough, making-of video, and soundtrack.
