Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix coming next year
Revisit Kingdom Hearts on your PS2 with simpler and cleaner graphics.
As part Square Enix's ongoing attempt to piss off fans who are anxiously awaiting word of a Final Fantasy VII remake, the company used its appearance at TGS to announce Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix for PS3.
KH1.5HDR will feature HD remastered versions of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts - Re:Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and will be available in Japan next year.
KH: Final Mix, the Japan-only update of the original game, and the PS2 re-release of Chain of Memories (originally a DS title) will simply be HD updates of their original PlayStation 2 releases. But the DS-exclusive 358/2 Days will require some updating to fit in with current-gen HD console offerings. Japanese gaming mag Famitsu speculates that 358/2 will see remade cutscenes, with the gameplay just up-resed to HD rather than fully rebuilt.
Square Enix also announced a browser-based, online social card game set in the Kingdom Hearts universe. There's no word yet on how stupid this game's title will be, but attendees of Tokyo Game Show assume it will be "pretty stupid."
