Mass Effect 3 Wii U will include Extended Cut

But if it's included, can we really call it an Extended Cut?

Mass Effect 3's Extended Cut downloadable content, which launched a couple of weeks back to address fans' issues with the game's original ending, will already be a part of the standard ME3 package when it launches for Nintendo's Wii U later this year, according to a series producer.

"The extended ending is basically going to be part of the game instead," said Michael Gamble, the said producer, in an interview with Siliconera. "You won’t have to download it."

The Wii U version of the title was first revealed last month during Nintendo's E3 press conference, during which a short clip of Mass Effect 3 was shown in a trailer showing off some of the console's upcoming titles.

Yet to be revealed is how Wii U owners will "import" decisions made in the previous games in the series -- or if they'll be able to at all. A Mass Effect 2 DLC, named Genesis, let PlayStation 3 players of ME2 sit through a 15-minute, voiced digital comic and make the critical decisions made in the first game. Something similar can be whipped up for the Wii U version of ME3 no doubt.

We also don't know if BioWare plans to make some enhancements to the game to take advantage of the Wii U's gamepad, which can offer not only an interface to limit player interaction with menus on their TVs, but off-TV play altogether.

Of course, we'll keep you posted. Davila out.
