Marvel vs Capcom Origins brings more Marvel vs Capcom to PSN and XBLA

Had enough of the digital versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 2? Do you wish you could play that game with a smaller roster of characters, 2D backgrounds, and a 4:3 aspect ratio? Well, have I got news for you!

Capcom has announced their latest HD port: a combo pack of the first Marvel vs. Capcom and Marvel Super Heroes, titled Marvel vs. Capcom Origins.

This new port includes online play with lobbies, spectator modes and replay saving, plenty of graphic filter options, and dynamic challenges. Basically, it's Marvel vs. Capcom given the Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition treatment, and there are certainly worse ports out there than that one.

The set hits PSN and XBLA this September for $15 or the equivalent in Microsoft Moonpennies.

This is actually the first time in 12 years that I'm a little bit excited at all at possibly purchasing a Marvel vs. Capcom game. Of the three, this was the MvC game I had the most fun with when it came out. Granted, I'll probably get my ass handed to me in online if it works decently.

Marvel Super Heroes was the BEST Marvel fighting game, in my opinion. Loved the music and the stages, and that it was based on the Infinity War arc from Marvel comics.
