Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault announced by Insomniac for Fall 2012

Like Quest for Booty before it, this one is a PlayStation Store exclusive.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is Insomniac's latest Ratchet & Clank title, and it's a PlayStation Store-exclusive game set for release this fall, according to a PlayStation Blog post by Ted Price, Insomniac's CEO.

The game will take the series back to its "classic feel, camera, controls and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play," said Price. Not entirely "classic," though, will be the ability to play R&C:FFA online with your pals.

Price didn't offer a solid release date or any more details for R&C:FFA but he did say the above concept artwork could give Ratchet fans a "taste" of what Insomniac has in store for them when the title hits the PSN's digital shelves later this year.

R&C:FFA will be the second PSN-exclusive Ratchet title after 2008's Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty, which was a digital title in North America, but did see Blu-ray release in other regions.
