Three-part Max Payne 3 comic series incoming

Rockstar and Marvel partner to publish a three-part series.

Considering the series' stories were mostly told via fully illustrated and voiced comic panels, it makes sense that Rockstar Games would partner with Marvel to publish a three-part Max Payne 3 comic series, just in time for the game's May 18 release.

Penned by Rockstar's Dan Houser and Remedy's Sam Lake, the series will shed light on Mr. Payne's early years, as well as dabble into the events of Max Payne and Max Payne 2. Greg Horn, known for his pin-up girl paintings and Marvel covers, will provide the cover work, while Spaniard artist Fernando Blanco, who's worked on projects for DC and Marvel, will handle the pencil and ink work.

The series' first issue, After the Fall, will be released digitally and in a limited print run in "the next few weeks," according to Rockstar's press release. Once released, it can be downloaded digitally from either Rockstar's Newswire or the official Max Payne 3 site.
