News > Titus goes for broke French publisher and developer Titus, best known for Superman on the Nintendo 64 and numerous other failed projects dating back further than that, has now been declared 'bankrupt' by a French court. So much for my dreams of Prehistorik Man Xtreme.

The company, which also owns the American subsidiary known as Interplay (also in dire financial straits for quite awhile despite its success recently with the Baldur's Gate games), is pretty much a thing of the past. France appears more interested in protecting its other asset in the industry, Ubi Soft.

Whether or not this means Interplay is toast remains to be seen, but you may remember from earlier articles that Interplay itself has mostly been assumed to be dead in the water. It last made news when its big cheese declared boldly (and this has been paraphrased ever-so-slightly): "You can prevent me from hiring employees but you can't shut us down!"

First Acclaim and now Titus. How many crap publishers must we watch sink into oblivion?
