News > Cold Winter ships to retailers Vivendi Universal today announced that Cold Winter has shipped to retailers. They expect that you should be able to find this one at your local retailer no later than June 1 or so, no matter where you live (something that seems likely, given the fact that the date in question is almost three weeks away).

"Cold Winter is a visceral and tactile shooter that brings the precision, feedback and pacing of traditional PC FPS combat to the PlayStation 2," said Philip W. O'Neil, Chief Operating Officer and President, North America for Vivendi Universal Games. "The impressive technology, realistic plot and beautifully lifelike elements provide gamers with a truly immersive and engaging sense of being right in the action."

In case you're wondering, the publisher promises the following features:

* Deathmatch -- Only kills matter in this mode.
* King of the Hill -- Race against other players to "capture the hill."
* Flag Tag -- Find the flag and hold onto it for as long as possible.
* Domination -- Capture, defend and retain the most Objective Points in the level.
* Last Man Standing -- Outshoot, outplay and outlast opponents to win.
* Head Match -- Gruesome variation of Flag Tag where players try to get "ahead."

If this sounds like your kind of game, rush down to your local retailer and tell them HonestGamers.com sent you. Then if it turns out that the game sucks, forget we said anything about it.
