Namco today continued its recent trend of announcing a new game on an almost daily basis when it revealed that it will be bringing The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree to the Game Boy Advance platform this coming September. The game is based off the best-selling book of the same name.
"Selecting The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree from the popular book series was an obvious choice for an action-filled video game. With its immense popularity, great creepy-crawlies, and scary spooks, The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree is a great game for kids, young adults, and a must have title for all fans of the series. We look forward to contributing to this world renowned franchise," said Jeff Lujan, business director, Namco Hometek Inc.
The game is being developed with the approval of Stan and Jan Berenstain, the authors and creators of the popular series. Those fearing that Namco just stole the rights to the series and maliciously developed bear-related games without permission can now rest easy.
Look for more information on this thrilling franchise in the months to come. Until then, tune to your local PBS station and enjoy much merriment while viewing the syndicated cartoon, free of charge!
