Deus Ex: One of the best RPGs I've ever played. You'd be wise to pick up a copy if you find one. Invisible War was an insult to it though.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves: Perhaps the most fun I've had with a fighter in awhile; it feels so intuitive and few characters feel overpowered. If you can survive the horrid translation, the Dreamcast version is worth getting.

Half-Life 2: Felt uninspired. I loved throwing stuff around but in the end the game felt like an overglorified tech demo.

Halo 2: Finish the fight...in the next game. Earth will never be the same...with the two missions you play in it. New features include sticky bullets, a shotgun that can't decide it's range, and a sword that frequently outclasses it. Don't worry if you're a kid; you can sound all cool and shit as you spout racist profanities with the "encrypted" voice. Fun!

Jagged Alliance: This may be the best "Tactics" RPG I've ever played (yes, even taking Disgaea and La Pucelle into account). It's amazing the sheer number of ways they give you to kill your foe without ever having to put magic in the game.

For Zigfried, here's an explanation.

At the beginning of OoT, you get a fairy called Navi. This fairy tells you "helpful" advice; e.g. when you lock-on an enemy then press C-up, Navi wuold say "This is a [insert monster name. Insert hint as to how to beat it]). However, the game would randomly decide to play the infamous "Hey" noise, then when you pressed C up, Navi would say "Listen," and say where you had to go next. She did this a LOT, sometimes in hilarious places (Hey, Listen! "Shouldn't we be looking for Malon's Father?" when Malon's father was asleep in front of us.) Who cares if this was one of the first 3d swordplay systems to work (I don't count Die By the Sword as an example); Navi was the most annoying partner ever, second only to Slippy from Starfox (don't play Starfox BTW)

Overall, Ocarina of Time is one of Nintendo's better titles (I still like their Fire Emblem series best personally), yet games like Sands of Time and Ninja Gaiden Black took Ocarina's gameplay mechanics and refined them further while Zelda has stagnated.

The point of Starfox is once you get past the Space Harrier perspective, there are better schmups which I assume Zig already knows about. Since I made the faux pas of not picking up a Dreamcast, I bought a Gamecube when I saw a copy of Ikaruga for $25. Been playing it religiously in an attempt to beat level 3 without dying once (1 and 2 are cakewalks and I can still beat 3; I tend to die a lot om Level 4's spiraling bullet traps)

Deus Ex is more of a FPS with RPG elements than an RPG. But whatever it is it rocks. I disagree about Half-Life 2, I thought it was one of the best, if not the best FPS to come out in a long time. Also Halo 2 was a great game, but it seems like I'm the only one who liked the second one way better than the first one (I reviewed them both).

Yeah, Ikaruga level 3 is crazy-hard to keep a handle on without dying (my troubles start when I reach the area with extending pillars from the walls).

Level four, though... I don't even know what to say. I haven't spent as much time on that one, so the "trick" to survival still eludes me.

Level four isn't that rough if you just want to live, especially if you don't shoot anything; if you try to chain it, though, the part with the spinning space station is by far the hardest part of the game.

Besides the space station (which I find virtually impossible to combo on) I also sometimes have trouble defeating level 4's boss. It isn't hard or anything but it takes a while to defeat. I never had too many problems with the first three levels; the gates in level 3 can be tricky but most of the enemies appear in rows of the same type, which makes comboing easy.

But it was a shame that level 5 was so easy. It was fun but it should've been swapped with level 4.
