Starting tonight, people will die. I'm a man of my word.

Title: Dragon Quest VIII - Day 5

Okay, I'll admit: Dragon Quest 8 has, progressively, been getting better. I dig Angelo's smooth ways and the way he kind of looks like Dante. I find Jessica's fiery wit to be a refreshing change from the usual sappy female protagonist. When Yangus yells 'COR BLIMEY', I admit, I laugh. I can't always understand what people are saying because of the accents, but I generally get the gist. And the combat system, while very basic, puts in enough interesting enemies and has a cool thing going with the point system.

I'm supposed to stand on this hill at the full moon, and the game tells me it's upstream. Okay. Is it talking about that big mountain in the foreground, the one I've been searching around for hours and can't find a path up to? Is it talking about some random hill, because there are many random hills around. Okay, it's upstream...on which side of the stream? These are things that would be helpful to know. And the fact that the map doesn't have scrolling ability as near as I can tell doesn't help things.

On the plus side, all the walking around is shooting my levels up. :/

I vaguely remember this because I had a bit of trouble myself. There's a body of water (on the left of it?) near this big mountain with a series of caves that lead to the top. Hopefully I'm remembering the right part (I think this was to cheer up the king of Althania or some weird ass town).

EDIT - and DQ8's story sequences blow. I love it for every enemy not being a total pushover like in the later FFs, the balanced party, and the fast yet pretty battles.

There's a path leading down to the embankment right behind the Aunt's (? the relative of the maid in the castle) house. Leads straight there. Hopefully, you'll run into some metal slimes too.

Ooo, metal slimes. Killed a few of those in the Ruined Abbey, did wonders. Thanks!
