Gay infidels! You have been spared the wrath of my mighty Grandia III review. So...um...I think I'll write a review for Megaman X: Command Mission, next. And it will be awesome! Not...quite as awesome as Grandia III, in all likelihood...but awesome! And then I'll polish up my Grandia review and submit that! And THAT'LL be awesome, too!

Yeah...sigh...

From Russia With Love

This one came about oddly.

Myself: Meh...I don't feel like writing a Wild Arms 4 review.

Inner Self: What?! But it might make EmP angry and spiteful! We love doing that.

Myself: He's always like that, I don't have to make any real effort towards it. Besides we already have a Wild Arms 4 staff review, we don't need two. Yet.

Inner Self: Well, at least your Grandia III review, which will discuss the amazing gameplay improvements, flight system, and incredible graphics of that game, will be coming out soon.

Myself: Yeah. But I should write something this week. If I don't, people might start comparing me to Destination.

Inner Self: True, true. What about From Russia With Love?

Myself: Eh, why the hell not.

Title: Love this song...
Posted: March 21, 2006 (02:41 PM)
Just Dropped In by Kenny Rogers

(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)

I woke up this mornin' with the sundown shinin' in
I found my mind in a brown paper bag within
I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)

I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in
I watched myself crawlin' out as I was a-crawlin' in
I got up so tight I couldn't unwind
I saw so much I broke my mind
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)

Someone painted "April Fool" in big black letters on a "Dead End" sign
I had my foot on the gas as I left the road and blew out my mind
Eight miles outta Memphis and I got no spare
Eight miles straight up downtown somewhere
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

I said I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
Yeah yeah oh-yeah

Don't know why, but this song really...moves me. Groovy...

Title: Grandia III...
Posted: March 20, 2006 (05:29 AM)
...is mine!

Traded in some games that I'm no longer playing (Xenosaga II, Outlaw Beach Volleyball, etc) to cover the money difference, and they were (surpriisingly) enough, and I managed to buy it. Already about six hours in, and it's looking pretty fun so far. I prefer the old line gauge to the circular, but they're the same thing in concept so you get used to it. And there's some new concepts that rock, and the characters are cool, too (my favorite is Miranda, the hero's mom. She looks old enough to be his sister, though, and not even his older sister. Might be something to that, I dunno) It's a little odd since I haven't that long played Wild Arms 4, but this is a good game and I'm digging it. Probably have it finished this week, and review it next week.

Title: NEW STUFF.

Xenosaga I: Some Fancy German Words
This one came off well, I thought; I'm quite pleased with it. It felt natural, probably because it was like...the fiftieth draft I've done for the damn thing. Glad to finally have it out there.

Oh, and this is review 50 for me. Not as big as saying hit 100,000, but yeah...

Star Ocean: An Incredibly Sucky Game
This one was just a rewrite, nothing too special. I do think it's better than the original, though, if for nothing more than the better length. I was also inspired by the format Sportsman used for his Chrono Cross review, so I tried something similar here.

Anyway...

Smackdown vs. Raw 2006
From Russia With Love (PS2)
Megaman X: Command Mission (PS2)
Seperation Anxiety (SNES)
Shaq Fu (SNES)
Grandia III (PS2-Release date depending on certain factors)
Grandia (PS)(Completed, but pending)
Wild Arms 4 (PS2-Probably save this one for Spring Break)
F-Zero X (N64) (Completed, but pending)
Pokemon XD (GC)
Xenosaga (PS2)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC) (Completed, but pending)
Phantasy Star Collection (GBA) (Snorrrrreeeee...)

And another one bites the dust.

Okay, so, what next...probably Wild Arms 4, followed by Grandia III somewhere thereafter. Might suprise myself, though.

I also need to get started on my own bid for the fiction tourney (which is turning out better than I hoped, so far. ^_^) Got some ideas...feel free to tell me which ones you like...if any...

Wild Arms 4: Raquel's Struggle
Not...entirely sure what she'll be struggling against, yet. I just want to do a fanfic with her; she's my favorite character. It'll probably be before the game and spoilerific, though.

Soul Calibur III: Ties that Break
A story about Seigfried, twisting the events of Soul Calibur III into a war-like thing between Nightmare's forces and the good guys. Epic stuff.

The Hulk: Ultimate Destruction: Army of One
A different piece, this one's told from the perspective of a soldier who's part of a battalion set to track down the Hulk.

Azumanga Daioh: I Forgot What You Did Last Summer
This one's my favorite. I think AutoRock sparked the idea a while ago, but he ain't doing anything with it, so...<_<...anyway, it basically has the girls of Azumanaga Daioh in a scary movie type of setting, a parody of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Should be fun to write.

Xenosaga: Computer Love
KOS-MOS and a...puppy. Meh, screw this one. It sounded better in my head.

Ghost in the Shell: Be Human
The story of a robot who wants to become human. Based after the song of the same name.

Samurai Champloo: TBA
Not sure about this one yet, but I do like the show and wouldn't mind doing a fanfic for it. It'll either focus on Mugen or Fuu, though; I don't mind Jin, but I like the other two way more.

Title: Reviews and stuff.

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

Came off pretty nicely, I thought. Wanted to get in the badassness of DMC3 without treading over old territory to much and managing to get in all the new features, and I think I accomplished that. Thought it went well.

Shaq Fu

Because no site is complete without a Shaq Fu review. It's written somewhere. Besides, I liked writing this one. No real complaints.

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006

I like wrestling, but I realized many think it's dumb and don't care, so I was hesitant to do this one at first. Then I realized that every single thing I do doesn't have to be modeled after what everyone else likes and doesn't like, so I stopped giving a shit and wrote the damn thing.

Smackdown vs. Raw 2006
From Russia With Love
Megamam X: Command Mission (PS2)
Seperation Anxiety (SNES)
Shaq Fu (SNES)
Grandia III (PS2-Release date depending on certain factors)
Grandia (PS)(Completed, but pending)
Wild Arms 4 (PS2-Probably save this one for Spring Break)
F-Zero X (N64) (Completed, but pending)
Pokemon XD (GC)
Xenosaga (PS2) (Completed, but pending)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC) (Completed, but pending)
Phantasy Star Collection (GBA) (It's a good cure for my insomnia)

Keep in mind that in all likelihood I'll review a game that isn't on this list just because I feel like it. Also keep in mind that my next review is going to be number 50, so I feel some sort of odd...obligation to make it rock. I dunno. I'm kind of in a mood where I feel like writing, but I haven't been overly pleased with anything I've written lately. Meh.

Just listing some possible reviews that I might use in the tourney.

RPG Maker 2
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse
Radiata Stories
Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose (Needs sprucing first)
GUN (Considering)
Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Eternal Duelist Soul (Considering)
Seven Samurai 20XX (Considering)
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (Considering)
Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition (If I can get some decent feedback on it)
Chessmaster (Considering)
Ultimate Spider-Man (Considering)

Probably going to be adding/deleting from the list, but this is what I got so far. Not too bad...gonna have to turn it up in the next few months, though.

Alright, let's see. Shaq-Fu came out okay, I thought. Did okay. What next...eh...Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 looks pretty good, I'd like doing that. From Russia With Love has been a bit of a disappointment, though, might take some time with that.

I…don’t get it.

Okay, a few days ago, a friend of mine showed my a YTMND that had a picture of Ronald McDonald with a turban flying one of the 9/11 planes through New York City. My friend thought it was funny, but me…I wasn’t laughing. My friend just wrote, claimed to be naturally irreverent. I just sort of…dismissed it, I guess, and left it at that.

I’ve been thinking about it for the past few days, and it occurred to me how full of horse manure stuff like that is. I mean, maybe it’s just me, maybe it’s just the way that I was taught, but when is making fun of the horrible deaths of over 1,000 people considered not only acceptable, but funny, too? When did we cross that line?

The example above isn’t the only one, either. I hang out of the comic boards, and I saw this modified picture posted of a man jumping out of the Twin Towers. For those who don’t know, when the planes hit the Twin Towers, the people who were caught in the blast and managed to survive but couldn’t escape were so racked with the heat that some of them actually opted to jump from the building instead of burning to death. I remember seeing a documentary that followed a group of firefighters who went into the Twin Towers to rescue people, and I remember hearing the sound of people hitting the ground in that documentary, and I have to say it’s a sound I’ll never forget.

So how was this picture modified? It had a picture of a man jumping form the flames, with a word bubble asking “How do I make webs, Spidey’ and a caption of Spider-Man saying “I dunno lol”. And people responded to the picture with ‘LOL’.

Am I the only person who sees how extremely fucked up that is?

Freedom of Speech, whatever. Yes, people have the right to do stuff like that. But that doesn’t mean they should. At some point common decency should come into play. I mean, it doesn’t matter your religion or whatever, unless you live in some seriously messed up place and you’re screwed in the head, people have an idea of what constitutes right and wrong. Innocent people dying is sad. Making fun of innocent people dying is wrong. I just do not get how anyone with enough basic intelligence to do something like that could be so low in conscience that he’d think trivializing in such a way would be funny. And I’m also appalled that anyone would prove him right. I remember my friend, when I brought up the YTMND recently, justified it by saying some thing along the lines of ‘Making fun of tragic death is always funny!”

SINCE THE FUCK WHEN? The last time I checked it was horrible and terribly disrespectful to not only the people who died, but their grieving families. If I had a loved one who died at 9/11 and I saw something like that, I would be PISSED, and I’ve every right in the world to be. Some things just aren’t funny and aren’t supposed to be funny.

Title: Smackdown vs. Raw RULES
Posted: February 23, 2006 (06:59 AM)
I seriously love this game. It's just...it's the total package. The voice acting is actually good, damn good (favorite line comes from Christian "But...you can't roll without me...") the story mode is actually genuinely interesting, and the fact that it branches and has alternating paths and is even completely different depending on what branch you join and what characters you play as...great. The collision detection works pretty well, and while I didn't like having to charge up my stamina all the time, it adds a realistic side to the fights that just makes them all the more intense. So many match types, and the graphics ARE AWESOME; the characters move exactly like their real life counterparts and are all fleshy in a way that makes just about everyone look like they're supposed to.

I have to review this...if I only I can stop playing it...

For some reason, that pic wouldn't resize properly when I tagged it. Oh well.

Anyway, might as well do something psuedo-constructive. I really don't plan too far ahead with my reviews, but here are some vague future guesses for upcoming reviews.

Megamam X: Command Mission (PS2)
Seperation Anxiety (SNES)
Shaq-Fu (SNES)
Grandia III (PS2-Release date depending on certain factors)
Grandia (PS)
Wild Arms 4 (PS2-Probably save this one for Spring Break)
F-Zero X (N64)
Pokemon XD (GC)
State of Emergency 2 (PS2)
Phantasy Star Collection (GBA-Assuming I can play it for five minutes without going to sleep)

Title: Final Destination 3
Posted: February 14, 2006 (03:31 PM)
FD3 is the first 'teen movie' I've ever watched. It will be the last.

Hm. I like that intro. Modified, it could fit well for a niche game that I hate. Hm.

Anyway, it sucked horribly and the only reason it was worthwhile was because it was on a date. She thought it was funny-stupid, and so did I. I mean, I would have agreed whether I thought it was or not, but it was really funny in a stupid way. Lots of gore. Unnescessary gore. And the plot kind of hinges on all the characters being idiots.
