Starting tonight, people will die. I'm a man of my word.

I lost again! ;_; And even worse than last time! Well, I gotta say, that threw me for a loop; Seperation Anxiety was one my top picks, and if it can't cut it...

Okay. Stay determined. Three weeks left. Who are we up against next...

Ah, fuck, it's that team with Zig in it.

...confidence...fading...need...Red Bull...

I hate to mope, but damn it hurts seeing SE get bitch-slapped. And then Suikoden V, a review I thought would bomb, does well in KOR. o_O Gah, frustrating.

But, I will not be detered. For, next round, I unleash...

Which will probably bomb, too...

Edit: On a personal note, I'm rather ashamed to say that an evil black part of me is glad over VM's and DoI's loses. ;_; I'm a bad person.

Title: Two movie opinions
Posted: July 15, 2006 (03:51 PM)
Movie Opinion #1

You know, Seven is an awesome movie. Best serial killer flick I've seen since Silence of the Lambs.

It makes Brad Pitt look cool. Of course, Morgan Freedman makes everyone look cool. He's that awesome.

Movie Opinion #2

You know that new CGI movie coming out, the one with the barn animals? That's going to suck ass. Outside of Pixar, nobody really does CGI that well. Shrek 1 is average, Shrek 2 is sub-par, Madagascar is just stupid, as are most things involving Chris Rock.

Just saying.

Title: Latest Review: Space Station: Silicon Valley
Posted: July 12, 2006 (01:25 PM)
Space Station: Silicon Valley

Still not sure whether I'll be using this for the competition, but, for what it's worth, I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's a little silly, yeah, but SSSV is a very silly game; it's hard to write about it without getting your hands dirty.

Edit: Also, does anybody think the Futurama reference at the bottom is a little too out of place? It just felt like I should reference Futurama at some point. It felt natural.

In other news, Ultimate Alliance is going to be awesome.

My original plan was to do a review for Space Station Silicon Valley, make everyone think that was my pick for this round, and switch it out with something more viable (either Seperation Anxiety or DMC:SE) at the last moment, but it occured to me that this might be something of an assholish move, and people probably say enough crap behind my back without me giving them fodder.

The SSSV review is already done, and I might release and use it, but it really all depends on how it's recieved. It's sort of a 'crazy review' (it's pretty damn hard to write a review about SSSV in a serious tone), and I'm always wary when I write stuff like that.

I mean, EmP, Zig, Genj...um...probably some other guys who's names I can't think of right now...they can all write these super-entertaining reviews, they can do crazy, insane stuff, they can go off on tangents and whatnot, and they can still make an effective review. They can use scrolling text, huge type and other things I know I would mess up; coming out clean from a shitstorm. Guys like Overdrive, Sportsman, they excel at delivering the facts; hard, quick, effectively. And everybody seems to have this expertise I can't even begin to touch; you know about shooters with names I can't even pronounce, you know about these weird games I've never even heard of, you know about all these technical things like HTML and computer codes and stuff, and, I mean, I really don't know jack about anything.

Except comic books. And that doesn't even come in handy unless I'm reviewing a comic related game, and maybe not even then since the percentage of people who'd actually know what the hell I'm talking about is pretty damn small.

Sometimes I just don't know. I don't think I'm a bad writer, overall, but I definitely think I'm worse now than I was around my peak (RPG Maker 2 times) I don't think I need a break or anything, but I'm missing something. There's something I stopped doing that I need to start doing again, and it bugs the hell out of me because I can't figure it out.

I can admit that I'm not a smart person in any sense of the word. It takes me a while to figure things out, and I've got little knowledge, and the few things in life I do know a bit about (Psychology, for one) never seem to pop into my head when I need them. It's like there's this wall I've got to break down.

Eh. ///_- I'm starting to sound like a Linkin Park album or something; random rambling I'm not in a stupor, it's just this annoying little thought that's been gnawing at my brain.I've been doing this for a year now, so I should be past the 'Little Reviewer Lost' stage and this sort of crap should be past me, but whatever. Glad to get it out.

Edit: This doesn't have anything to do with the above, but Tom Jane's Punisher was a good movie and I don't care what anyone says.

Okay, lost the first round of the TT. No way to debut. I'm cool, I'm cool.

Mark my words: I shall not lose again! I will construct a review by Wendesday, maybe Tuesday, that will rock! It will be new. It will good. It will not be Jaws: Unleashed, because I don't feel like it now.

Um..., I mean, FIRST!

Title: Dragon Quest VIII - Day 5
Posted: July 08, 2006 (04:01 PM)
Okay, I'll admit: Dragon Quest 8 has, progressively, been getting better. I dig Angelo's smooth ways and the way he kind of looks like Dante. I find Jessica's fiery wit to be a refreshing change from the usual sappy female protagonist. When Yangus yells 'COR BLIMEY', I admit, I laugh. I can't always understand what people are saying because of the accents, but I generally get the gist. And the combat system, while very basic, puts in enough interesting enemies and has a cool thing going with the point system.

I'm supposed to stand on this hill at the full moon, and the game tells me it's upstream. Okay. Is it talking about that big mountain in the foreground, the one I've been searching around for hours and can't find a path up to? Is it talking about some random hill, because there are many random hills around. Okay, it's upstream...on which side of the stream? These are things that would be helpful to know. And the fact that the map doesn't have scrolling ability as near as I can tell doesn't help things.

On the plus side, all the walking around is shooting my levels up. :/

Title: Dead Man's Chest and the Naruto Review
Posted: July 07, 2006 (04:12 PM)
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja

I can feel your stares.

This one came out of nowhere; I picked it up expecting a laugh and some bash review fodder (bash reviews are my weak spot, it seems, so I'm going to try and hone them in the future) but instead got a solid Super Smash Bros. styled fighter.

Anyway, just got back from watching Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest. Great movie, everything I was hoping for a lot more, maybe a little too much more. The movie is long. Not King Kong long, but long, and you start to feel it after a while. It also gets a little too complex sometimes, and has some plot holes (why the hell is Jack the Monkey still cursed?), but overall, it's good stuff, and it has one HELL of an ending. You'll never see it coming, I swear.

Can't wait for the third one.

Title: Lazy One Day Reviews
Posted: July 05, 2006 (10:01 AM)
The two games I picked up for my birthday...

Jaws Unleashed: Eh, not bad. Not bad. Eating people is fun, eating dolphins is REAL fun, eating Shamu is funny, but accomplishing stupid mission objectives like sinking an oil barge and destroying a refinery are kind of dumb. Since when did Jaws become an eco-terrorist? I feel like Captain Planet with big teeth or something. Probably start working on review for this, have it done next week. Maybe.

Dragon Quest VIII: Not bad, but I really do not see what the big deal is...then again, I'm only five hours in, so I'll give it time...

That's all folks...for now.

Title: Happy Birthday, Genj!

I'd give you, like, a present or something, but I already gave my EB giftcard to an extremely unappreciative brat. Anyway.

Happy Birthday, man!

Title: Sort of new review...
Posted: July 02, 2006 (06:51 PM)
Radiata Stories

Yes, I did this before, but I ironed it out quite nice for the tourney. I was stuck between either using this or DMC: Special Edition for the TT, but I think this was the better choice. And I'm curious to see how it fares, besides.

Starting to see where a lot of the Wolverine hate comes from...

Martial Masters

This one was pretty spur of the moment, but I felt the mood for it. Could always use some more arcade reviews, I think. Also, it'll be a good backup for the section comp...

Title: Back like Moses.
Posted: June 23, 2006 (01:09 PM)
Suikoden V

Alright, I'm back. That took a lot longer than I had planned, but meh, real life shit popped up I return now with badass vengence. I'm a little unsure about this review; I was going for the 'sectioned but not shitty' route of this KoR round...and it's a bit longer than my recent stuff. Meh. Hopefully, it won't come off too cheesy. Or cheesy at all. That would be good.

Anyway, general observations:

-Cars was a surprisingly funny movie. I usually hate Larry the Cable Guy (though I will say that I do like the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, in small doses) but he was funny in that movie, and the movie had a lot of 'Awwww' scenes, but none of them were too corny. Just a fun movie to watch, went with my brother.

-Evangelion is the most overrated anime I've ever seen.

-I need to do a damn fanfic. I'm leaning towards Ghost in the Shell.

-I have Gnarls Barkly's 'Crazy' song stuck in my head.

That is all for now.

ADDITION: Genj's Bebe's Kids review was sweet.

ANOTHER ADDITION: Why the hell is Sonic the Hedgehog flipping off my rating?

Title: Peter Parker: Exposed
Posted: June 15, 2006 (06:41 PM)
Okay, sorry for the hiatus. I’m back now. Suikoden V review coming soon.

But, until then…remember Civil War? Well, #2 came out recently, and…

Big spoilers…

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Spider-Man is Peter Parker. Now the whole world knows it.

I’m on the fence about this. On one hand, this changes a lot about the character I know and love. Spider-Man’s secret identity has always been sacred to him, and this…if it sticks, it changes a lot. On the other hand, I have to applaud Marvel for rattling the cages. Nobody thought they had the balls to do this, and they went and did that.

So...let's see how it goes.

When I rip and kill, at WILL
The man of the hour, tower of power, I'll devour
I'm gonna tie you up and let you understand
