|"Punch-Out!!" is really hard.|
Punch-Out!! - Picked this up for 3DS as a Club Nintendo reward. I've made it to the final circuit, not counting the secret one that requires a cheat code. I really suck at this game, but I find it encouraging that people have managed to beat it while blindfolded. In the World Circuit, I can beat Piston Honda more or less consistently, and I'm starting to work out a repeatable tactic for Soda Popinski. To my surprise, Bald Bull is insanely hard the second time around, and I haven't even gotten to the really hard part of this circuit yet! I think it's going to take a long time before I can actually beat "Punch-Out!!".
3D Classics: Excitebike - Another game courtesy of Club Nintendo. Playing the Excitebike course in "Mario Kart 8" really made me want to go back and revisit this classic. It's a lot of fun, and this version actually lets you save your custom courses. I've gotten about half way through the game on Mode A.
Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move - I've been sitting on this one for close to a year now. Cleared five more levels in "Main Event", and I now have fifteen left. This is one of those games where it's best to play it in spurts, because it can get really hectic. It's a cool puzzle game, though.
Pokemon Omega Ruby - Finally got to Fortree City. I had to get a Devon Scope from Steven before tackling Winona's Gym, because it turns out Kecleons like to blend in with their environment and act as invisible road blocks. Now that I've gotten the sixth Badge, I can finally use Fly to get places. I think the only HM left is Waterfall, but I might be mistaken.

Have you played the Excitebike update they released as a download on Wii? It's a lot of fun, a really satisfying experience for people who liked the original. I need to play it just a bit more and review it, I think. And yeah, Bald Bull is ridiculously tough the second time you face him in Punch-Out...

For my final Club Nintendo reward before they shut down at the end of June, I had about enough coins for one 3DS VC game. Punch-Out is what I had in mind for the longest time, but in the end I went for Link's Awakening instead. Still will probably spend the $5 on Punch-Out sooner or later, but it's anybody's guess if I'll be able to beat it. When I was at the top of my game, I could reach and normally beat Mr Sandman and Super Macho Man, whereas nowadays Soda Popinski will probably wipe me out already. And I've never once beaten the final boss (be it Tyson or Mr Dream).
On the plus side, I've mostly had to emulate it (played it on NES but do not own it for that), which may have impaired my results. Perhaps on a 3DS my reactions will be a little bit better than on a keyboard.
