|What games are on my plate this week, besides Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life?|
Pokemon Omega Ruby - I haven't come down with Pokemania this badly since 1998. I'm even keeping up with the new XY season of the anime, which is about as bland as ever, but at least they have a better animation budget. Anyway, I'm on the verge of getting my fourth gym badge, which means I will be able to face my father to get the fifth gym badge. Hoenn is one sweet region. I've set up my secret base in this one area that has volcanic ash and some sweet BGM. My team is: Grovyle, Pelipper, Minun, Hariyama, and Torkoal. I'm planning to make Mon #6 Carvanha, who I'm going to name Bruce, because he evoles into SHARPEDO. Sharpedo is part shark and part torpedo, and now you know why he deserves a spot on my team.
Pokemon Red - I plan on playing all the old Pokemon games that I can, starting with this replay of Gen I. I'm currently in Fuschia City, and I'm about to get the fifth gym badge. My team is: Venusaur, Pidgeot, Raichu, Growlithe, and Marowak. After I get the badge, I will go south to Route 19 so I can catch Staryu, evolve it into Starmie, and make it Mon #6. I had a lot of fond memories playing this in eighth grade.
Nintendogs+Cats - For $15, this isn't bad. Whenever I finish my daily Animal Crossing run, I launch this game and take my dogs for a walk. I picked this up on Thanksgiving so I could play it during the dog show that follows the parade broadcast. Only thing is: no Scotties, and the AR element is janky as hell.
Knuckles Chaotix - I hate this game. It's a waste of Knuckles' talents, and the special stages make me want to barf. The one positive thing I can say is that it's not "Sonic 3D Blast".
Mario Kart 8 - My build is Morton Koopa, the Landship, the Button Wheels, and the Cloud Glider. I call it the Morton Doomship. It sacrifices a chunk of speed, but you get a lot of acceleration and handling in return. This game is just about perfect.

That's a lot of Pokemon. Some would say too much Pokemon.
I am one of those people.

I'm one of those people where two Pokemon games was enough.
Also, how's your play count in Animal Crossing? I hit 500 hours a while back and I haven't dared to look at it again. Been playing it just about every day since it came out.

My play count is over 1000 hours, last I checked. Ever since I banked 100 million Bells, I've been spending less time with the game daily. Last year, I was spending about 30 minutes everyday on the island catching expensive bugs, in addition to the usual 30 to 45 minutes checking in on the neighborhood.

I got tired of catching bugs at night, which is about all I was doing, but I had a decent run with the game. It's as close as Animal Crossing has come to feeling right (for me) since the GameCube edition. If Nintendo makes a Wii U installment, I'll have to check that out and (probably) be a slave to Nook all over again.

Oh man. Knuckles Chaotix is so painful
