About Me:

Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma.

was going to put this as my opener for NMH2 review
February 13, 2010

but like my last review i started going off on a tangent before i scrapped it and started over. here are my unrefined thoughts.

---------------
These days video games tend to forget their identity as games. "Interactive Cinema" is the term they call it. Uncharted 2, and Heavy Rain are paving the way forward with more engaging storytelling, life-like characters and real emotion. Yet I find these type of games to be banal, but also sometimes boring. If this is the direction the medium is heading towards, then the future is indeed frightening. While I am not against progression, developers don't need to prove to cultural snobs that games are sophisticated enough to be called art. Video games are much of an art form as the first caveman who painted on cave walls.

wow, i'm surprised my Modern Warfare 2 review has crept from last place to become my most popular review..and i don't consider it as one of my best ones. i don't know why, maybe its the only review up for the PS3 version. i can see no other explanation.

beat NMH2, finally
February 03, 2010

final thoughts:

2nd ranked battle: wow.
1st ranked battle: lame. anti-climatic and not epic
the ending: wtf?
the verdict: still like the game, like the style. i liked the 1st one better.

so i'm guessing everything that happened in Desperate Struggles was just a recollection from Sylvia's memory? that whole 120 years thing threw me off.

on the otherhand, the ripped audio for this game is pretty awesome. some of those tracks happen to have Akira Yamaoka's name on it...i was thinking he was just doing freelancing...but its official he's working for Grasshopper now. yipee!

haven't bought two wii games in one day since.....
January 26, 2010

launch day. picked up No More Heroes 2 and Capcom vs Tatsunoko today. got those trading cards that came with preordering. surprised they were lenticular cards. they change from Tatsunoko character to Capcom character. i'll probably be spending more time with the Wii than i ever had in a long time, well until March anyway when God of War 3 or FF13 comes out. time to get crackin' on No MOre Heroes 2!
