i guess this guy is famous on youtube for his video game collection. it's not the biggest collection i've seen on the internet, but 1,300+ games is still alot. my 300 game library doesn't compare! how big is your game library?
Title: haven't played this game in years......

maxed out on my $55 bid(it was going for $51) and won Dragon Force for the Saturn off Ebay complete with manual, insert and the RAM cart sticker. i got it 10-15 dollars cheaper. can't go wrong with that. lately i've been intersted in collecting Working Designs games. couple months back i got Exile and Cosmic Fantasy for the Turbografx both sealed in the box for $3 each and also got Iron Storm for the Saturn. i'm eyeing on Magic Knight RayEarth and Growlanser Generations next.

Blazblue: Calamity Trigger PS3 - (the 2D art looks frickin gorgeous and finally ArcSys makes something new that is not called Guilty Gear but you might as well call it Guilty Gear HD since it looks alot like Guilty Gear but prettier)
Eternal Poison PS2 -(got it used for $30 based on Zigfried's seductive review. the only thing i don't have is the artbook cuz i obviously got it used but condition looks almost like new which made me snap it up)
Yddra Union PSP - (got it because of Knights In The Nightmare and it's made by the same developer, "Sting". haven't tried yet..)
Riviera: The Promise Land - (got it for the same reason i got Ygdra. the gameplay looks way too simplified tailored for rpg newcomers but it is fun and the music score sounds good from what i've heard)
Knights In The Nightmare DS - (this is probably Sting's best effort to date. the visuals and music score are beautiful and the best the DS has to offer. the style of the game is definitely refreshing. its an SRPG but alot more action-oriented that it doesn't feel quite like a traditional SRPG while dodging enemy projectiles in bullet-hell fashion. if it weren't for some annoying gameplay quirks, this game can be addicting. the game may look complex but i think it's actually a more simplified SRPG that newcomers to the genre could get into)
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor DS - (played 10 minutes or so of the beginning. presentation looks good. gameplay? the tactical grid movement is something i'm going to have to get used to in an SMT game, but the battle mode is old-school SMT. maybe the game will get better after an hour but right now i'm not feeling it>)
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume DS - (just bought this today at GameStop new for $20 with their Summer Sale promo. it's got above average reviews so it may be good. haven't played it yet.)
games i wanted to get but skipped:
Cross Edge(it got crap reviews but i would buy it for NIS' quirky humor(arnold references anyone? and fan service.)
Flower Sun and Rain(it got crap reviews but since it's an old game from Suda51 that never came out here, i'm curious..but it probably would have been better just to bring it out here on the PS2 than an inferior DS port)
Dark Spire(it's only $20 now and the game's got pretty decent reviews. i'd definitely get if i had money left over.)

a Sega Saturn system and lot of 20 games complete with case and manuals with the exception of 1...for 96 bucks! the main reason i went for this auction was a copy of Guardian frickin' Heroes! definitely one of my favorite 2D beat-em-ups of all time. it doesn't hurt to have the Saturn back. i sold mine in 2006 so i could afford to own an N64, and i kind of regret doing that. so now after 13 years me and the Saturn will finally reunite! as for the other games i'll be getting with it...
1. GEX(meh, still want to try)
3. Clockwork Knight(always wanted to try, never got the chance)
4. Quarterback Attack(bleh)
5. Mortal Kombat II(shrugs)
6. NBA Jam(may play just for nolstagia)
7. PGA Tour 97(meh)
8. Sega Worldwide Soccer 97(hmm, maybe)
9. Battle Monsters(hmm)
10. Manx TT Super Bike(worth a try)
11. Golden Axe - The Duel(worth a try)
12. Guardian Heroes(fuck yes)
13. World Series Baseball(meh)
14. World Cup Golf -Professional Edition(meh)
15. NHL All-Star Hockey(meh)
16. Road & Track - The Need For Speed(meh)
17. Vitua Fighter 2(play for the nolstagia)
18. Virtua Cop(same as above)
19. Daytona USA(same as above)
20. Sega Saturn - bootleg sampler
pretty decent deal just for Guardian Heroes(standalone copy goes for 80 or so bucks on Ebay....) and a Sega Saturn system. i'm happy...

PS1 Valkyrie Profile complete and in good condition on Ebay for $69...not too shabby considering it's the 4th most expensive PS1 game on VGPriceCharts where the average was going at close to $90 before i won..now it's at $75. i'd like to think my win and another guy who won it for $41 without the manual(lucky guy..if he can find a manual for 5 bucks or so, he still got a really good deal) helped drive the price down 16%, but the last several auctions have ended around $80 so I'm still lucky i got it a little bit cheaper. now if only i can get Suikoden II for $69...
hmm should i keep Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth now that i got the original copy?
Title: geez, alot of games coming out between may and september

Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Dead Space Extractions

this year seems like it's continuing the trend of last year: strong summer line-up followed up by a sparse winter line-up. i wonder if there will be any big games left for winter season? there are some already announced, but will there be more? i'm feeling a little more optimistic that this year won't be as disppaointing as 2008!

in ten years, i hope video games don't completely go the way of digital distribution where the physical medium becomes obsolete. yes, it's quick and it's easy. it saves shelf space and makes you appear less geeky but there's something about buying games digitally that makes the whole process seem effortless and boring. whereas if you were to buy a game at a store, not only do you have to make the effort to go to the store, once you arrive you have to make the effort to ask but then you may or may not even be guaranteed to come back home with a copy! you may mutter obscenities under your breath if the outcome wasn't a success but hey if you managed to score the last copy in your hands, doesn't it make the game all the worth playing? all you think about now is eagerly tearing away the factory wrapper off your newly bought minted game and popping it in your game console while you're waiting in line to pay...now that takes a lot of effort..
