Title: dj max portable 3 finally has a date!
Posted: September 11, 2010 (02:41 PM)
PM Studios why can't you announce the release two months ahead of time instead of...next month ack! $110 for the special package edition...seems more bare-bones packaging than their usual limited editions were they go all out with goodies..not feeling it this time...but i would get it just for the alternate slip cover with those cute anime girls...$70 more than regular edition....ohhhh i got a headache.
Title: turning into an Android
Posted: September 10, 2010 (10:11 PM)
finally upgraded my cellphone to a smartphone. its an EVO. after a week of playing around with it, customizing it, getting apps from android market(yes i just had to get PSX4DROID), i am in love with it...but it's going to be at the expense of my game purchasing habits...which means i won't be buying many games from now on.
i'm going to miss out on Kirby's Epic Yarn and Hokuto No Ken Musou, Etrian Odyssey III, the new Castlevania game and the rest of those holiday blockbusters. instead, i will pare my list down to several games: DJ Max Portable 3 and Ys: Oath In Felghana, both for PSP!
Title: the gameplay is much better than Ys VI.

and the music, i found its still possible to headbang while keeping up with the fast-paced action.

World of Goo & Cave Story
are there any better games you would recommend over those two?
Title: why E32010 mattered
Posted: June 24, 2010 (01:57 PM)
aside from the unveiling of Nintendo 3DS, there were no mention of next-gen hardware from the Big Three. In E32000, Nintendo announced Project Dolphin; Microsoft had X-Box. E32005, it was Nintendo Revolution, X360, and PS3.. but E32010? nothing, not even a teaser or at least a codename that would get the collective bunch talking until the next E3 show.
so what's going on? for as long as i remembered since the NES or perhaps even before that, there was always new hardware on the horizon every 3 to 4 years. back then there were alot more hardware companies trying to put out systems. there was Atari, Nintendo, Sega, NEC, SNK, Panasonic, Sony etc. Now, it has trickled down to three. Even so, the 5 year cycle has always been the general rule of when to expect next-gen hardware, that is until E32010.
Remember how quickly the X360 was announced when the original XBOX was on the shelf just over three years? The XBOX360 is approaching its fifth year already. You would have thought Microsoft would get the ball rolling. Nintendo and Sony don't have to reveal much of anything at this point since their machines came out a year later, but you would think they would have mentioned some interesting tidbits by now.
on the portable front, it seems almost puzzling Sony made no mention about the oft-rumored PSP2 which leads me to believe that if they don't announce anything by Tokyo Game Show...then its going to be too late for Sony. The 3DS will probably have sold ten million units by the time PSP2 arrives.
on the other hand, i'm glad i don't have to worry about new hardware. as all the gaming companies have shown, we simply don't need one right now. i get the feeling the next home video game system won't be out until 2012 or even, 2013 when Sony and Microsoft ride on the motion trend until Nintendo makes its next 'move'. this year it was all about the games and that's why E32010 mattered.

i would have probably stopped watching the series after this episode..but nope i'm stilll addicted. i'm at episode 15 now
Title: i have to admit...
Posted: May 17, 2010 (11:43 PM)
the middle half of Strange Journey was lulling a bit... i was almost getting weary with the grueling dungeons, tough bosses(Ouroboros especially) and a ploddening plot that seemed to go almost nowhere from one sector to the next.....
but things have finally picked up now, although a bit later than Nocturne pacing-wise. Jimenez has turned out to be quite an interesting character. Zelenin too and the manifestation of their beliefs. choosing a path has always been a staple of MegaTen games. do you side with the demons or angels? things can only get more intersting from here on out.
on a side note:
holy crap, FFXIII's final boss is one of the most un-epic and easiest bosses in the series. awful... but at least i'm glad i've beaten the game and got it over with. pretty game though, but i would never play this game again from beginning to end.
