Title: A is for Animal Crossing: City Folk
Posted: January 10, 2009 (02:44 PM)
I actually wrote a review. It's more of a whinge, though, written directly into the submission box, fuelled entirely by my own disappointment at the game. I need to trade it in before it loses any more value. God, that game leaves a bitter taste. I only paid half price for it, and I still felt ripped off. I want my money back.

I did get one thing out of it, though. A review. It's... quite an important moment for me.

I actually did a double-take when I subbed it through. I thought double-takes were just weak literary cliches until today.

It's a good review, too. I have a special place in my heart for PAL/NTSC bashing.

I can just imagine. Review by Jerec... wait, really? Jerec!?

Thanks EmP!

I always thought you were just some guy who judged competitions without ever having written anything.

I'm old school, baby. Problem is, while I do make a good judge, I tend to judge myself way too harshly, especially when I'm actually in the process of writing. It seemed to leave me alone today, as it just wanted me to rant about the game. Which I managed to trade in for... nearly the amount I paid for it. So basically what I paid for was akin to a rental.

Good riddance.

I too was surprised and pleased by the appearance of a Jerec review. I saw the icon for the game on the front page and thought "Hey, I've been meaning to read up on that," and then seeing that you wrote the review was especially nice. You've got your start in the Alphabet Olympics!

I still don't...

I do enjoy that, as things stand, Jerec is beating nearly everyone in the alphpamarathon.

I read all the way through this topic and was still unbelieving of a new Jerec review existing. I guess I'll have to go check right now.

Before I read this I clicked on the review just to see who it was by and it said Jerec. I thought it had to be someone else so I read it and it read like a Jerec review. Great review, by the way, too bad we probably won't see another one until 2012 or so.

Yeah. I was surprised too. You should write more reviews, jerec. This one was amusng. I've never played Animal Crossing, but I do feel bad for you that you got ripped off just because of compatibility issues.

I'm loving all the attention I'm getting. I love going to the site and seeing my name on the front page. I really need to review more often. I may need to review Fallout 3 soon, as that game has stolen a good 50 hours of my life.

If you time it right, I'll even put the next one you write in the main focus window.

When EmP says "time it right," he means just post the damn thing.
