honestgamer It's not all an elaborate ruse, some misguided attempt to establish for myself an online persona of dubious quality. I really am dull. If you don't find that unbearable, though, this is my blog that examines just how truly boring I can be.

Title: O.K. Computer is very good...

I can imagine myself listening to it again a few times, at least. I look forward to it, even.

Yes, I picked it up at work this evening. There was only one copy left and I didn't want to be stuck ordering it later if I wanted to give it a listen. I've now purchased both studio albums that the store where I work carries. They have three copies of a "Greatest Hits" CD, but I've always been the sort that prefers to avoid those in favor of the more comprehensive full-album experience. Some of my favorite songs from bands I like never make it to radio and "Greatest Hits" collections, after all...

Good to hear you liked OK Computer. You're thinking right with avoiding Radiohead's Greatest Hits release. They're really more of band where their whole albums are good and distinctive so a greatest hits compilation is a bad purchase. The band didn't even want it to be released, but their old label did it for a quick buck and because they were pissed that Radiohead didn't release In Rainbows with them.

If you want more Radiohead, I'd recommend either The Bends or Hail to the Thief.

edit - All of their albums are pretty inexpensive on Amazon.

Yeah, definitely check out The Bends next, and skip the compilations. One of the great things about Radiohead is that they've pretty much reinvented themselves with each release; they're one of the rare bands in which "albums" really have meaning.

I'll try to remember the recommendations the next time that I'm ready to order music online, but that's not going to be this week, most likely, or even next. I need to stop spending money on music (and today, DVDs) and really focus on paying off my debts so that I can cut back on the day job and spend more time doing things like working on this site!

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. I listened to O.K. Computer again and just finished a few minutes ago. I enjoyed it again, as expected.
